Tolkien was very specific on language & tone of speech for his characters.

Tolkien described their skin color. It wasn't black. So why are they in there? It's appropriation and virtue signaling that goes directly counter to what the creator wrote.

I understand that some want it to remain true to the literature and I have no issue with that. I for one want a great story created based on Tolkien lore and as long as the actors are great at their role along with a great script I could care less. The issue though for the purest at heart and for me is the reasoning for doing so. They did not do it to make for a better story but did it to pander to certain demographics and to make a political stand. Which Amazon has come out and made it clear their stance. Hence their panel of fake Tolkien nerds.

I watch movies, TV, and even sports to get away from all the BS that plagues real life. I could care less about what the current flavor of the month culture buzz words or themes are. When you come out and tell me that is the reason you are doing it with the exception to take or leave it well my choice is not to support. And it is a very easy one to make.

Your attempt to troll lacks effort but if it makes you feel better have at it. But I will clarify for you to help you understand my process on the matter even though you are only seeking confrontation.

Great actors and/or great script I will always try to watch if it is a genre I enjoy or story I like. If those are sacrificed to support a political agenda I will not support it in any nature. And before you come back many things have a political agenda within it, I will agree but if it can do it without sacrificing anything in the story so be it.

So far based on the promotional materials and the trailers I see not a great script but only a political agenda being manifested that leaves me looking for something else to watch come September.
