I truly pray Jonathan Majors is innocent. Dude was amazing this episode yet again

Not including the thousands of cameos in the Ant-Man post credit scene, we've already seen him play three different characters and he has knocked each one of them out of the park, that at times, you forget it's the same guy playing them.

He's so fricking talented.

Looks like they just left Victor Timely alone in the 1880's so he could make candles, nothing more.

I think that was a rudimentary battery he was working on, not candles.

Also, why did they make Sylvie so ugly for season two? Nice mullet.

Probably as a reflection of her living in 80s Oklahoma and working at a McDonalds.

it was actually alarm clocks. back then you would place a nail in a candle and when it would melt far enough the sound of the nail hitting the metal basin would wake you up

Was he? I guess so...

I kinda thought whoever was in that room, now decided the course of the TVA from then on. It would have been an interesting discussion to watch, but I suppose it would have taken too much time away from Loki's actions and the wrap-up.
So let's see; Timely ultimately was not needed (his invention didn't work), and his connection to He Who Remains was dangerous. So I guess he agreed to bow out. He never receives the TVA handbook as a child, and by the way the handbook is now Vol 2. I guess they deleted bits referring back to him and the loom, wonder if he helped OB edit the 2nd Edition before leaving...

so where does he go? If they don't send the book, does Timely just disappear? Or is he now a member of the TVA?

I'm clearly the only one who didn't like or understand this last episode. All I saw was Loki grab a lot of space yarn and sit down. Now I'm supposed to believe he's somehow the center of time and space? Where did that power suddenly come from?
Another response to that, after reviewing the show...

Loki can "do things", he clearly has that ability (as we have seen before). And going back to Thor/Asgard, Thor says much of what the Asgardians do is based on advanced knowledge. He tells Jane that magic is simply science applied at an advanced level (something to that effect). And at that time, Jane- a brilliant astrophysicist- was just scratching the surface of the knowledge that Asgard possessed.

So now, Loki (who was already very knowledgeable), as a result of the Loom (?), can time slip. He spent literally centuries learning OB's knowledge, of the TVA and what they can do. And in addition, he's also learning trial and error with each attempt to fix things, and in his conversation with He Who Remains.

A major note here: at one point, we are shown/told that He Who Remains is controlling the dynamics of this.
Then later, He Who Remains says something, and Loki responds with "and what makes you think we haven't had this conversation already?"; and He Who Remains acknowledges the point to Loki.
It's at this point that Loki is now in control of everything, not He Who Remains. Otherwise he wouldn't be surprised, as he previously had anticipated everything.

Loki has some telekenetic power, as well as deception and illusion. Once he fully understands things at the fundamental level, he has the ability to manipulate stuff he previously wouldn't have dreamed of. He understands how the timelines work and what fuels them, and is able to control that.

Finale kinda felt like an Edge of Tomorrow ripoff, some strong plot armor with Loki. Agee with everyone raving about Jonathan Majors performance, very talented actor.

I love Jonathan Majors as an actor and I thought he was fantastic as He Who Remains. Victor Timely, however, was annoying. Felt like he was trying too hard to be weird, and that stutter got old really, really quick.

Loved all of it until the ending. I like the idea of Loki taking the role at the end, but just walking out there was lazy writing.

Hiddleston said this on Jimmy Fallon

quote:

"I will say this, it all comes full circle," he said. "It's the conclusion to Seasons 1 and 2, and it's also the conclusion to six films and 12 episodes and 14 years of my life. 14 years. I was 29 when I was cast, I'm 42 now. It's been a journey."

I take it we aren’t going to see him as Loki again.

So... they will have Kang as a major threat, but the actual multiverse will be safe (in Loki's hands).

I can see it. They've set up the multiverse a lot, but there's no need to threaten it at all. This way, you get to keep multiple storylines going, without having to link everything together. No reason to have the X Men or Fantastic Four in the Avengers universe, if you don't have to.
And it's been established- you CAN cross over, if the story calls for it. You just don't HAVE to.

I mean Hiddleston was saying shite like that when Loki was killed in Infinity War... only for him to show back up a year later.

My biggest question would be if he could leave the tree now. He appears to be holding it all together, what would happen if he abandons, even for a moment, the tree of the multiverse? Does it fall apart or would it survive on it's own?

How did you interpret the renslayer scene?

There was a pyramid in the background and purple light effects. My assumption it's foreshowing of Rama Tut who is one of the more dangerous of the Kang variants.
