The type of places that would charge the equivalent of $21 for a single pizza are trendy, urban spots that are selling you on the ambiance of their fancy restaurant and/or rare ingredients and "gourmet" standards. You pay that much because it's supposedly "the best pizza ever omg". Those places don't deliver.
Again, you're wrong. But your disdain for people and places that are different than you is cloyingly palpable. Thanks for that.

Yeah, I'm in North Dallas and there's a legit pizza place that charges out the arse for delivery, but it's damn good stuff. Paid exactly $21.00 with the tip.

I'm not some bumpkin who doesn't know what things cost. I've lived in central Houston and central Austin, been to and had pizza in Manhattan and Chicago, and never paid $21 for a pie. As high as $18, in an actual pizza place, yes. But $21 for a delivery pizza in the 'burbs? GTFO.
I have in Denver. Some trendy pizza place. Paid $18 for a pizza about the size of a Frisbee, if even that. I mean it was good but $18 it was more like an appetizer or a snack than a meal.

I live in the Lower Greenville area of Dallas. Right down the way from me is a place called Greenville Avenue Pizza. Its not a trendy spot, they have a shite ambiance, and they don't call their pizza gourmet. The large supreme is $23 before tax and they do deliver.

The McAlisters lived in the 'burbs. The delivery driver was a kid in a beat up Geo Metro or something along those lines. The pizza was in an average cardboard box. The place has a stereotypical off-brand pizza place name: "Little Neros". It's like a little family joint around the corner. The price is absurd and points to a rich screenwriter out of touch with average people's reality who just pulled a number out of his rear end.
The McCallisters live in one of the wealthiest areas in the country. They aren't in some garden variety suburb like Plano or McKinney. They live in Winnetka Village which is similar to but wealthier than Highland Park in DFW.
Never mind that they are clearly rich as frick and more than likely DGAF about something like the cost of a pizza. (obviously not counting mooch arse Uncle Frank) This is even hinted at as neither of the parents had any idea how much they were due to pay when the guy showed up.

The pizza place I order from that I referenced earlier is in Highland Park as well. Yes, they are that damn expensive.

im guessing they chose john candy for the travel van because he seemed like one of the least threatening guys they could cast.

Another thing I noticed was once the McAllister family gets to NYC, the mom goes to the hotel and has the fricking nerve to tell the lady at the front desk "Because of you, my son is lost and alone in NYC." Um, no, you fricking count...your son is lost because you are a horrible mother and lost him at the airport. Not to mention that this is the second time this has happened in a year. And you have the nerve to try to pass the blame onto someone else? frick you and your disrespectful bull shite.
And then, at the end of the movie, everybody wakes up and sees all the presents and is happy and all that. Then Kevin, without so much as as second thought, sneaks off to go to Central fricking Park alone AGAIN. And not only does he leave his parents intentionally, none of the adults (or 37 kids) notices that he is gone either. So you all are so worried that Kevin is alone in NYC, and you are all so relieved that he is alive and okay, yet the next fricking morning, you pay so little attention that you let him run off alone again? And then not even notice when he's gone...again? Get the frick out of here, McAllister family. You are all terrible people.

Has the flag hanging over the attic bed been discussed? What flag is that and why is it displayed rather prominently in the room, yet hidden on the 3rd floor. Does Peter McCallister have some dubious allegiances with some shady country?

I think it's the city flag for Chicago.

Without a doubt my favorite Christmas film in my youth was "Home Alone
It is a great holidaymovie and has a lasting aura about it... Home Alone 2 was a jokeand should have never been made IMO.....Some movies just don't need a sequel and HA is one of them.... As far as Christmas Vacation... This has to be my favorite xmas movie of all time. They have some real good ones out there but IMO nothing tops it... I have seen it over 100 times and still laugh..............everytime......

Did Kevin somehow know that Harry was going to be the one coming in the back door? The flamethrower was perfectly placed for his height. Marv is a good foot taller. If Marv had come through that door the torch would have melted his face off.

Kevin's ability to predict the actions of criminals was uncanny. He for sure had a future in the FBI as a profiler or maybe a security consultant to the rich and famous. Obviously the years of mental abuse from his family sent him down a different path in life.

I remember first reading this thread my freshmen year at LSU. I didn't have a TD account but was an active lurker. If I remember correctly I was upstairs in our fraternity house listening to an older active bitch about some girl when I pulled out my phone and began reading this thread.
If we fast forward to today. I just graduated from LSU and that guy is now engaged to that bitch.
May the tLegacy of this thread live on

I've pretty much done it, just scattered throughout the thread.
We need to do a rewatch together though. I won't disappoint this time.

In Home Alone 2 when Kate arrives in NYC and is wandering the city looking for Kevin... and then she goes to the house that Kevin had booby trapped to see if he is there. She knocks on the door, could you imagine if she had tried to open the door instead? She would have received the brunt of the staple gun.

Boo this... Home Alone 2 is just as good as 1. I think Home Alone 3 is what you are referring to
