re: Let’s Discuss Interstellar
I really enjoyed it. I know some people probably hate the black hole scene stuff but it’s one of my favorite Nolan films

dude would have been a hero for ages, and probably had statues of himself in times square (or wherever the hell they were floating around).

didnt she say no one believed her when she said it was her dad who saved humanity. I think even she may have had some slight doubts even if she said she knew it was him that whole time

Had not seen that until today. Super creative and spot-on!

I chalked it up to a “its not possible’...’no, its necessary’ kinda event. Murph solved gravity to allow humans to repopulate other planets and make it to the future to do the 5th dimension stuff. Coop sacrificed life with his family for it to happen. None of that shite was possible, but it was necessary so it happened lol. Love that movie.

One of my favorite movies ever. The very end was wasted to me. Under no circumstance would a guy who did what Cooper had done been treated like he was just a nurse coming into the room to check blood pressure. He would have been surrounded by his grandchildren and Murphy would have been heralding him to her family from her bed. He walks in...has a little bedside chat....and walks out. They screwed that up bad.

That's a good point. I never thought about it in that way.

They weren’t humans. They were descendants of humans that transcended into 5th dimension beings. And further, “they” were not actually there at the end. The tesseract was created by them and placed there in the past.

Yes, I understood that but it doesn't change the paradox either way.

The plot hole is Cooper sending himself there. They should have simplified it to the pilot dying before they can take off and that Cooper is the only man for the job.

As for the 5th dimensional humans, only one branch of humanity in a near infinite number of timelines has to survive in order for 5th dimensional beings to help us in our timeline.

I like the idea of Kevin Spacey as Dr Mann.

Yeah, he would have been a good choice as well.
