Another favorite.
Who would have thought a movie about a series of murders in a remote monastery in the 14th century would have one of the steamiest (hetero) sex scenes in cinematic history?

Damn this thread delivers!! It’s like I’m strolling through the aisles of Alfalfa back in the day!!
A lot of these probably fall in the forgotten category instead of lesser known, so I’m going to include both

Total ripoff of The Blue Lagoon.

James Spader plays a East Coast blue blood kid recently moved to LA. He's a bad boy rebel with a good heart. In the opening scene he happens on the local gang mugging a guy and foils their play, making himself dead meat.
I like this as Robert California’s backstory. Alternate title: “How I Became the fricking Lizard King”

and of course who can forget DEBORAH HARRY in this
Speaking of hot women being raped by ghosts..worth finding if you have never seen it.
and everyone should watch this movie just for the score by Tangerine Dream

Stakeout was a great sleeper movie!
Dryfuss actually pulls off a kind of badass cop in the roll.
I love the pranks the two teams of cops pull on each other.
And the scene where Dryfuss is under the bed and Madeline Stowe is undressing, her legs are so fine.
Another one I don't think was mentioned, that I watched last night:
Love love love this movie.
Fantastic vistas, beautiful music, not one but TWO Kirk Douglas's!
The over the cliff scene is just so well shot, and was actually performed, no special effects CGI back then.
The sequel was a rare instance where it's as good as the original.
And speaking of Australian westerns:
Another great "western" not set in the old west of America.
Tom Selleck is perfect for the role. His rifle is a bad mofo, and he's deadly with it. But he's got a strong moral compass.
We get the always amazing Alan Rickman chewing through his lines with delight. Laura San Giacomo oozes sexiness and craziness in equal measure.

Michael Nesmith (The Monkees) and his friend came up with the plot for this movie while waiting in line to see a film. They were commiserating about the lack of fun films and decided that a time traveling motorcycle racer in the Old West would make for a great popcorn flick.

Oh
Here's another one that comes to mind:
You may think it's a detective movie.
And you'd be wrong.
I remember watching it for the first time and when the big twist reveal happens just freaking out.
Great movie.

The Wild Life-1984. I can't get the damn picture to load but it's like Fast Times Part 2. Funny as hell with a lot of well known names.
Ever since watching that movie and seeing Lea Thompson get smashed by that cop in the back of a donut shop I have had a fantasy about banging a chick in the back of a donut shop on the counter with flour all over both of us.
