The Maze Runner movies were pretty forgettable YA fodder, but they looked amazing for their relatively smaller budgets. Wes Ball is a great visual director.

First Maze Runner was good the other two were just ok

Who Should Play Link in the Live-Action Zelda Movie?

Who knows what lore the filmmakers will draw from? In a world where Chris Pratt can voice an Italian plumber, anything is possible with these adaptations. Will director Ball turn to his favorite actors from the “Maze Runner” franchise, such as Thomas Brodie-Sangster, to energize the franchise? Or will we be blessed with a Jacob Tremblay versus Jacob Tremblay duel —should the story pursue a Dark Link arc. Here are some possibilities.

I'm honestly more curious who they would cast as Gannondorf.

He's mostly been presented in such a serious manner compared to the rest of that universe. They'll need someone strong enough to chew the scenery for sure.

I think it would be better as a tv-series. But if they're going the live-action movie route, I hope it's a Lord of the Rings style trilogy. Regardless they can take my money.

Whatever style they go, we know nintendo won't allow any risks to be taken with this.

Zelda needs to have some grit. Taylor-Joy would probably be great, but how about Florence Pugh because I enjoy looking at her.

I wonder if Finn Wolfhard could pull off Link.

Maybe Robert Pattinson? It really depends on the tone they’re going for.

They'll have a prominent BIPOC/LGBTQ supporting actress and/or co-lead.

Think Moses Ingram in Kenobi. You thought the show would be about Obi-Wan but it was also about Moses Ingram and the little girl to make sure it was good and slathered with feminism.

Those of you that like to sky scream about this before anything is even known about projects are quite the conundrum.

So if I’m following, any media featuring minorities, women, LGBTQ folks, and now children I guess, automatically = bad. So what you’re wanting instead is….all media to feature exclusively white men? Regardless of source material I suppose since Legend of Zelda is Japanese.

It’s just a little funny to me y’all are so ate up with any non-white male appearing, yet somehow have an issue with LGBTQ people. If anything, I’d think you’d be the most understanding. Maybe it’s time you have your sexual preferences checked. Seems like white meat is all that’s on your menu.

How long does Link need to learn his lines?

The problem with everything you stated is it’s all forced and adds absolutely nothing to the story. Most times it takes away from it and comes off as pandering by the studios, especially when they advertise it which is a lot. Just tell a good story and frick your lecturing.

For example, everyone that says the next James Bond has to be a woman or black

No, he doesn't. Ian Fleming was very clear on what James Bond looked like.

I sincerely hope they do the monster design right on any “bosses” they include and don’t make it a CGI fest.

I take it back. Probably 50%. It's possible the leads will be Japanese, which would make sense given the company that created the game.

You didn’t get the memo? Asians as a minority were too successful in America and disrupted too many narratives, so they are officially grouped as white now.

(Wish I was joking)

Might be the dumbest take I’ve ever seen.

How about more of a real world representation of that diverse group you just listed instead of shoving lgbtq and women major characters down everyone’s throat and give us a good movie and story faithful to the source material. And yes, that means a woman in the #2 role and just make her a good character. I guarantee no one would bitch

That would be a good choice if they went the full CGI route, or even Charles Dance. But I would hope they would use a real person with just some practical effects.

Maybe someone taller like Alexander Skarsgård since Gannon typically towers over everyone.

Me too, but Zelda will translate better to live action than Mario ever could

The problem is that a live action LoZ movie will always come off as a LOTR knockoff or something to the uninitiated

First time I saw the trailer of fellowship of the rings I remember getting excited and yelped “Zelda!”
