Always wondered what happened to her. She was actually a nerd all along. And to think she gave Skippy such a hard time.

But when she and Nick finally got married, did she allow him to incorporate "Lola" into the ceremony in any way?

She’s right, although I don’t quite think it will happen as fast as she thinks (not saying I’m right, just my opinion). But where she’s 100% right is that the actors need some ironclad things in place to protect themselves and their images before it’s too late. Like she said, if they strike by then it may be too late since they won’t be needed anymore.
And the angle that I wonder about is porn. What’s to stop people from creating on demand porn of their favorite actors and actresses? Hell, based on her points you could even put your own image into a porn with your favorite actress. The Wes Anderson LotR thing shows that the possibilities are almost literally endless.
Her point about AI creating and providing additional seasons of old shows actually sounds pretty cool.

I’m pretty libertarian and don’t tend to side with unions/strikes often and side with the politics of Hollywood even less, but this is the most valid point she makes.
We are in some very dangerous territory. I don’t like new laws for the sake of new laws but the amount of societal damage available with AI isn’t really fathomable at this point.

I don’t keep up with these type of people but a twitch or YouTube guy got caught with AI porn of another female streamer.
Pretty disturbing.

The world will be better off without dumb celebrities. Bring on the AI

The world would be better if people didn’t listen to the opinion of insulated, ignorant, self-important celebrities.
While I don’t care about Taylor Swift’s opinion on me being wrong about abortion as a Christian, she’s talented and a human being that has infinitely more value than a computer program.

That’s what I mean. On one hand, it’s not real and not really the people depicted in the pics/videos. And on the other hand I obviously understand why someone would feel a bit violated if they were the subject of one of the pics/videos. It’s a situation where something should be done to protect people, but also feels like a slippery slope with what all it could entail.
The fact that conversations like these are necessary is fascinating to me though. Like technology is almost to a point where you can go to AI and order a movie or porn starring you and your favorite celebrity (or hell, I’d imagine it’s not even limited to celebrities at some point…your favorite neighbor even).

5. Licensing deals made with studios so that viewers can order up older films like STAR WARS and put their face on Luke Skywalker‘s body and their ex-wife‘s face on Darth Vader‘s body, etc.
That made me giggle.

It may happen fairly soon. Hollywood rarely has original thoughts anymore, so how hard would it be for an AI to rewrite the Dirty Dozen based on the Ukraine conflict using a diverse and multicultural cast. Would initially eliminate the writers, actors follow in a few years. I actually don’t feel sorry for Hollywood.

That whimsical LOTR video in there is hilarious.

Some of you guys are missing what's happening here. This isn't going to be a way for Hollywood to be more Hollywood on the cheap. This is going to be a way for streamers to create infinite content cheaply and disrupt Hollywood.
Like all of these advances, it's probably going to start with porn. Once they've mastered dynamic "story lines", you'll see companies like Netflix creating on demand shows that cater to viewers tastes, not Hollywood's agenda.
The more Hollywood gives into the unions, which they'll probably have to do at least a little, they'll make themselves even more vulnerable to disruption.

It sounds bad arse. Imagine being able to fix the last 2 seasons of GOT or the Star Wars prequels and sequels. Or better yet Godfather III

I disagree. It's only dangerous for the entertainment industry, not the average Joe. If you post your life on social media for the world to see, then expect to be dragged in. If you make a living off your image by choice then be prepared for the consequences of that decision.
Many people and professions have suffered from technological destruction, why are Hollywood people exempt?

Imagine real people being able to write great stories then sending it to a company that could turn that into a movie in a few weeks? then having netflix, amazon , movie companies bid for the rights to that movie. Wouldn't need all the extra cost : Actors,Director's , set locations etc...

Imagine the content compared to the crap that is produced these days. This could turn the movie /tv business upside down. I imagine it's still about 5 years away but if i was in the movie business such as studio's etc.. I would definetly want to be at the front of this and not sticking my head in the sand. See kmart, circuit city etc.. when amazon was a startup some 20 years ago.

quote:I can guarantee that a lower production cost will not be passed on to the buyer/viewer. And you're imagining that they'll now have "real people being able to write great stories" that are somehow different from the writers that we have now. What you'll have is more of Netflix using their algorithms to determine which type of story will get viewers, which type will get press, and which type will placate the outside forces that "demand" that their voice be heard.
Also add the director, set location as well if you wanted. The possibilities i agree could be endless. Same old shite, but with more profits going to the non-creative forces behind entertainment.
