Beth ruined the show. Character development was lacking and some of the main characters were getting less and less attention while Beth was getting more.
J.R Ewing like Beth wasn't the star of the show in the beginning until later on. But it was about Beth in the last two seasons. Dallas didn't have that problem.
It tried and failed to be like Dallas. The writing was terrible by the last two seasons.

Was it the ending of season 2 that was so awful it was laughable?

Yellowstone was very good in the first two seasons. Taylor Sheridan knows how to write some good material but struggles staying with projects.

The place actually exists.. now their legal reasoning is a bit exaggerated but it’s an interesting concept that is just cool way of saying they have a place akin to the swamps of S LA to dump bodies

Like you said his best stuff has a predetermined beginning and end, like Wind River or one and done for a series like 1883. 1923 had and maybe still has potential but the first season drug on with so much filler that it was a chore to finish.

Costner wanted more money per episode. He had arguments with Sheridan and left the show.
I wasn't looking forward to watching 10 episodes of psychotic Beth being overbearing.

The last couple seasons were completely ridiculous but it has it's moments.
I want them to finally finish it to see how bad Sheridan fricks it up.

I just don’t understand how one family could have so much drama/problems in one of those most peaceful/beautiful places on earth.

This is what made me quit. I mean, if you’re generating that body count in NYC or Chicago, sure. But in fricking Wyoming?

It’s absurd. But we are invested and will finish.
I will say that much like season one of True Detective, they do a great job of making the setting its own character in the show.

Four episodes in.
Are these people homicidal maniacs? Feels like I've walked into a Mirror Mirror universe
Just sounds dumb to me.

You’ll love the big reveal for the Dino bones

Beth wouldn't make it far on Dallas. Once J.R understands she is no Cliff Barnes, he would get rid of her quickly.
Posted on 6/9/24 at 5:02 pm to dchog
She would last about five episodes before he figured her out. He's find out about why she can't have kids and other dirt.
And if she tries to fight like Kristen did, here comes McSween

We made it through a few episodes and gave it up. The Beth character ruined it for us and the show was really quite stupid after the first few episodes.
The constant griping of the Indian girl and her constant victimization was also really irritating to me. Not a character one on that entire show was likeable.
