I'm not a Star Wars fan. I've seen the original trilogy but it was back when I was a kid. Haven't seen any of the prequels or the new trilogy.
Trying to wrap my head around how bad this movie could have been. Can anyone put it into Marvel terms for me? As in what would have to happen in Endgame for it to cause the same reaction as TLJ?

So bad that people keep creating the same threads over and over again

16 months later we’re still having the thread asking the exact question

It was a pretty bad movie but I felt like if you took out 1 storyline it wouldn't be as bad as people make it out to be. The rest of the movie was just kinda dumb.

Basically imagine Captain Marvel putting on a strap-on and then proceeding to f*** Thanos and the Avengers in every hole. Then, when you (the Audience) ask why Marvel decided to obviously, completely ruin the franchise when things were going in the right direction, you are told that you are a sexist, racist, bigot for not liking it.

The majority of Star Wars fans liked it but there’s a vocal minority that still continue to complain about it years later.

It was alright with one awful storyline. That goddamn casino world was so damn bad also Rose was just the worst. Finn finally is about to do something amazing get and awesome heroic death and her dumbass ruins it and nearly gets everyone killed

Honestly Rey, Luke, Finn, and Poe were the only ones that weren't complete retards

The new star wars trilogy isn't written for you. It was made for a younger, money spending audience. That audience doesn't have the same emotional connection to star wars that the emotionally stunted baws here have.

TLJ was good, if you can get past your childhood star wars sex fantasies.

It's better than half the MCU films

It had some cool special effects. Other than that, the movie had no redeeming qualities. Not a single one. I don't believe there has been a Marvel movie that bad, in fact, there are few big budget movies that have EVER been made that were as bad as TLJ.

So good they decided to stop making them for a while because of the overwhelming positive feeling from the fans.

I saw it at a midnight release the night it came out. I was excited. That viewing is going to have the diehards.

I heard audible groans throughout the entire movie.

When it was over there were some scattered boos. And then everyone left and the ambience was that of a funeral. I think everyone knew it was bad, but was still processing.

Usually when an audience sees a good movie, when its over and they are leaving the audience is excited, talking about what they liked, and in a good mood. But in this case, it was just as if everyone in the room was told that their pet dog just got his head chopped off.

For me I was confused and went home around 3:00am, then I went to bed, got up the next morning and was angry when driving to work.

After seeing how well TLJ and Captain Marvel did at box office, and triangulating the bad reviews, and personal experience, it just obvious that the Star Wars/Comic book tools just like anything that is out on screen because they are so delusional. They have nothing else in life and have bought so many action figures and T-shirt’s that they refuse to unemotionally judge a movie on its merits along. I thought Captain Marvel was worse than any movie in the past 5 years and it did $1B.
