Wow. Those were two seasons of damn fine television. I was never the biggest fan of the Karate Kid franchise, but holy shite do I like this sequel series. I cannot wait for season three.

If you guys haven't seen it, I highly recommend.

No thanks. I'm a board regular. I'm too good for threads that are already multiple pages long. My thoughts are too unique and original for that lame arse thread.

Sensei Lawrence wouldn't even know how to sign up for a message board. Dude didn't even know what Facebook was in 2018.

It’s not that great. I enjoyed it but it’s cheesy as can be. To call it “damn fine television” is a bit much. With no Covid lock-downs or the original story to play off of, this would be mocked into obscurity. Just look at the gifs posted in this thread alone.

Season one was very good. Season two left me disappointed. It felt like a high school drama show.

Ding. Ding. Ding.
I powered through season 2, but it was tough to finish...

We finished it over the weekend. I am not a fan of the KK franchise either (first movie is good, but the rest are forgettable), but this show is legit.

Johnny is fantastic. His character is developed wonderfully, and he sells just about every scene he is in.

Same thing goes for Miguel and Hawk.

Danielson is good, but his acting is a bit awkward at times.

Overall they have avoided the cheese elements that a show like this could be trapped into. S1 especially was able to do so, but S2 did slip up here and there with the cheese.

The biggest issues I have with the show are Sam and Robby. They are terrible actors, and they bring the cheese way too much. That Tori chick is pretty bad as well. When these three are on screen this feels more like a Disney tween series. Thankfully it's not that often.

Robby's actor is just ridiculously bad. I have no idea how that guy got cast.

Sam and Tory are passable imho

Sam definitely, Tori...eh. Maybe it’s because I remember her from the Disney channel, but I have trouble buying her character. It definitely feels like a facade. Granted, maybe we learn later that it is, and that this aggressive delinquent Tori isn’t the real her, and just a cry for attention from an inattentive parent. But for now, Tori and Robbie are the worst acted characters on the show.
