I will say the show isn't for everyone. But I would give it a chance. Like I said, it really is one of the best shows of all time to me. The acting is just top notch. Everything about it is top notch.

But some episodes you be left going "What the f just happened" Hahah

I saw there was a comparison with LOST which I really enjoyed outside of the last two seasons and more recently I liked Locke and Key as well.

I could never get into Lost, tried 2 times and just couldn't do it.

But was hooked with The Leftovers from the get go. Have watched it through 3 times.

I agree it’s not for everyone but it’s the same guy that did LOST

LOST and Leftovers are both top 5 all time for me

If you like it though 5/6 episodes then you’re good. It’s one of the few series like Breaking Bad that keeps getting better as you watch.

When he was "dead" for the 1st time and was the assassin and had to sing karaoke to come back to life was one of my favorite scenes. There were so many weird scenes but even stuff like that where he's singing some random song but the lyrics hit so deep and fit so perfect. One of the better acting performances you can find there in that scene. Patti was such an awesome character too.

Loved the music throughout the show.

Not a country music guy but the opening credits theme song for season two is hands down the best opening song for a tv show ever. The "just let the mystery be" song. I mean the song was probably written 30 years earlier than the show and if fits perfectly.

Sort of

Fair to say to everyone that has not seen it, yes, an explanation (of sorts, tracking very close to the language you chose) of what happened to the departed is offered in a relatively matter-of-fact way. It is an explanation (of uncertain reliability) by one of the main characters to another main character who at least outwardly accepts the explanation.

At that point in the series, it will be your choice, similarly, to accept, reject or question that explanation. And, to reiterate - the show is NOT about the departures or the departed, except as a framework to tell the story of those left behind, the "Leftovers."

I loved LOST and Westworld, but the more I think and look back, I really think that The Leftovers is the best show of the last 20 years.

Not sure another style voice could ever make this song better.

Just look at some of the more respected tv critics and how they view it

Alan Sepinwall has it top 10 all time and it was his number 1 show of 2018

I just saw a list that had it 1st of best shows that started in the 2010s

I’d agree. Watching the first season I was still on the fence after the first two or three episodes. From then on, the show is flawless. I really like how it didn’t overstay it’s welcome too. 3 seasons was the perfect length to bring the story to an end

No. I know Westworld wasn't Lindleoff, but it had that kind of feel to it and was just throwing out two of my favorite shows from the last 20 years.

I agree and I think that’s why it’s one of my favorites. It left me wanting more and with so many questions and that’s the beauty of it.

They didn’t limp to the finish line like other shows

I was attracted to Westworld precisely because it had that otherworldly and weird quality. I lost interest, but I get the similarities.

The reason I said "sort of" is because the "where did they go question?" was answered.

Why? and How? were not
