Ted Knight was a tremendous comedic actor. His run on the Mary Tyler Moore show was the stuff of legend.

Ted Knight was the brightest star of that movie. He really doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. Judge Smails is a Top tier comedic antagonist of all time right up there with Sheriff Buford T Justice.

This board likes to throw the term "greatest of all time" around a lot. For me, Caddyshack is certainly in that conversation. It's aged very well.

Some people speculate that Doug Kinney committed suicide because he thought Caddyshack was going to be a complete f*cking failure. He was particularly upset with the addition of the gopher.

The critics hated the movie and Kenney's substance abuse was in overdrive by that point. When Chevy Chase is your intervention, you're in trouble.

Of all the great lines in Caddyshack, I always considered that one to be the funniest.
