Why can't there be a show about 20 something millennials (if that's the term) being successful, not being a financial burden on their parents, and not being self-involved douche bags.
These are the people I know in real life.
Dunham created that show because she thought tv didn't portray her and her people.

A lot of them are.
"Oh, I wanna sleep around and party into my mid 30's before I even think about settling down!" People like this confound me. It's pretty arrogant that you'll be able to pull this off, and who exactly is going to want to settle down with your worn out, tired arse?
And what about sleeping around, or being in a bunch of relationships, has prepared you for marriage or parenthood? You've spent most of your adult life being selfish and you think you're going to have a happy, healthy marriage because you got "it" out of your system? You're just as selfish as you always were, and you'll get divorced and screw over your kids for those same reasons; because you're a self-involve POS.

I've seen it...I don't think it's great, but it's not a bad show at all. And a lil heavy or not, I dig all the nudity. I think for the angle she's taking with the show, it fits. I feel like the critic comes off as though he's put off by her, so I get her response, even if a little pompous.

Seems to me what the guy was saying is that in GOT the nudity is there during sex scenes which makes since but on this Girls show there's is just nudity at random times for no reason other than nudity for the sake of nudity.

Lena Dunham is like the illegitimate child of Hollywood and the NY Times. She's narcissistic, academic without being intelligent, desperate to be contrarian while simultaneously adopting trends, and ultimately substance-less.

Basically the critic wanted Dunham to admit that she gets naked to prove a point about societies and the entertainment industries ideas of female beauty and how it's always beautiful women shown topless. Which is true but just admit you have an agenda. Don't act like it's just a coincidence you are by the far the most commonly shown nude person on the show and also by far the ugliest .
As another reporter said "If Louis CK got naked 4 times an episode on Louie we'd ask him for his reasons too." And that's accurate bc they have the same body type
