Well…I cried.
Too many moments hit home for me.

It is very good. He was such a generous guy with lots of family issues stemming from the early death of his father. He was a good dude.

I really believe Candy would have won at least one Oscar had he lived longer. He had some incredible dramatic scenes in his comedy movies, he could have pivoted into more serious movies had he lived and wanted to.

Catherine O'Hara is a fricking treasure. The unused scenes of her and Candy in that Polka truck, where Candy is just going on and on, giving the director tons of improv to pick from, and O'Hara is stone cold in the scene, reacting with him, never breaking to even grin at the wild shite Candy is coming up with. And now she's a great looking old dame, who has had very little or no plastic surgery.

He had a really short period of time to give them in his schedule for this role. They said he stayed for 23 hours to do it.

Watched this last night. I need to watch Planes, Trains, & Automobiles again. Haven't seen it since I was young. Hated it then, but I was a dumb kid.

god bless john candy
I didn’t realize they closed the expressway for his funeral. What a talent and what a wonderful man he was

I'm sure some others have said it, but man. Akyroyd wrote and delivered one HELL of a eulogy.

Its very hard to find, but Candy had a great role in a film called Only The Lonely, which also featured Maureen O'Hara and Ally Sheedy. Sort of a modern take on the classic film, Marty.

Did everyone know John Candy helped the 49ers win the Super Bowl. Last drive trailing the Bengals

Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors, and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
That's a hell of lot of nostalgia

We just finished it- definitely got a little dusty during the PT&A part, I love that movie. Great Outdoors just hit Netflix. I’m going to have to watch it again soon.
Sounds like a lot of hard living coupled with anxiety that only got worse as he got older. It’s tough because he was one of the great ones.
