Jennifer Lawrence should have been cast as Captain Marvel (only speculative Endgame points

I haven’t read any spoilers, but let’s face it, Iron Man and Captain America are gone in the MCU. RDJ is completely likable on all sides and has been a fantastic lead for the MCU. I think the Captain America franchise will go on, but Bucky Barnes will be the new Captain America but not the leader of the Avengers. Thor just likes doing his own thing too much to be the leader of the new Avengers, and Hulk is too much of a mad man to be such (if either survive Endgame)
So it’s clear they’re going with Captain Marvel as the new leader of the Avengers, and Brie Larson is just completely unlikable. She said she doesn’t care what white men think about the movie, despite the fact that they represent like 60% of the audience. She is an extreme prude and completely arrogant to an extent that she’s worse than Mark Ruffalo (a hell of a claim). This is just a disaster going forward, especially due to her replacing RDJ. People will think (and do) that “Oh Brie Larson is running this, I don’t want to see it anymore.”
Jennifer Lawrence is also a leftie, but she’s very likable and down to earth. She at least goes out of her way to talk with the other side, even if they personally drive her crazy. She doesn’t openly ostracize a large portion of her audience. I also think she would have been better casting as Captain Marvel. Yes, she was tied down to Mystique in X-Men, but this was clearly a lost opportunity.
If they want to have Brie Larson lead the MCU, then have fun on the next Avengers movie barely breaking a billion. It’s just not going to work and she’s been radically miscast as the new leader of the Avengers. She will only repel people from the box office.
And leave Endgame spoilers out of this until Monday. That’s a fair enough “you snooze, you loose” deadline, and if this thread is still going on, I will change it to a SPOILER thread.

She topped a billion at the box office for Marvel playing a character most people have never heard of.
She's 2 pictures in to a 7 picture deal.
Enjoy being triggered for the next decade.

JLaw would have been a worse choice than Brie Larson. She's not likeable at all and her star power is quickly fading.

Emily Blunt was born for the role, but Yvonne Strahaski or whatever her name is from Handmaid’s Tale would have been a great fallback choice.
ENDGAME SPOILER BELOW
Captain Marvel was barely in the movie. I kind of rolled my eyes at the girl power moment but it wasn’t obnoxious at least.

1. Anything with the Marvel brand will sell in theaters. The actress largely did not matter.
2. More importantly, Captain was a pre-Endgame film, of course people who are excited for endgame would most likely see Captain Marvel.
I dont have a dog in this fight, but we wont objectively see how well Brie does by herself until the next standalone Captain Marvel film.
What I'm not looking forward to is an all female Avengers film, which Larson has hinted at wanting.

She topped it because people wanted to know if there was crap we needed to know for Endgame. It’s why I went. I’m willing to bet Captain Marvel 2 grosses 2/3 what the first did.

Depends on what established character joins her or what new big supporting character they bring in for a boost for her. Her sequel won’t be until 2022, which will be around the time we’ll be built up for the next Avengers movie..
Or since she’s space-based.... Fantastic Four.

Did marvel buy them back from Fox?
That series was basically killed off by their last film. The F4 property is damaged goods.

Disney owns everything Marvel. Except for the individual movie rights for Hulk, Namor, and the Spider-Man characters.

Has Marvel been granting many wishes of late? I think Scarlett wanted a Black Widow movie. That totally reasonable will have taken well more than a decade to materialize when it is finally released.
You should wait until there is an actual stable of female MCU heroes before you worry about that.
