The show in general doesn’t really execute emotional beats very well, I think because most of the show is so sarcastic/meta and they don’t really commit to it enough for it to be worth the effort. Similar to Marvel on some of their movies undercutting every emotional scene with a joke.
Which is fine by me, we don’t really need everything to be a dramedy, just the few moments they’ve attempted to make it like that, it hasn’t been the shows best

The intro of this show might be the best thing on TV. It’s mesmerizing to the point I’ll look it up on YouTube every now and then because the song kicks arse and the dancing is hypnotic

This show is so fire. I can't even skip the intro everytime i gotta watch the dance. And the music is fantastic. I'm not even into metal

Yesterday was the first time we watched the intro because my son insisted on it, it did not disappoint.

I thought they did a great job with the emotional scene at the end of episode four. They nailed it with the song choice and acting.

Same! I don't know what it is, I laugh every time. Cena is too roided up to be dancing which makes it funnier to me. And Robert Patrick is hilarious when it's his turn.

The first episode was a bit clunky, but after that it's a really fun and wild ride.
There's a lot of good jokes in there. The scene with Vigilante picking a fight with the Aryan nation
John Cena is really funny too. "Eat Peace motherfrickers! "

That damn eagle is probably my favorite animal in any movie/tv show.
Whoever described it as “superhero MacGruber” on page 1 actually nailed it IMO. Peacemaker’s execution, with money and guys like Gunn and Mansell attached, is just superior.
I agree about Ep 1 feeling clunkier, it’s almost 2 different sections. The first half, “get the backstory out of the way”. The second half, “meet Eegly”.

I feel like DC is gonna just milk the suicide squad for individual hbo series and im all for it.
Let’s get a miniseries on the weasel or the guy with the detachable floating arms

Spoiler if you haven’t watched the first three episodes. But what if James Gunn was serious about the intro theme being important. Chorus says “blind to what you’ll soon become” and “do you want to taste it”. Maybe they all become butterflies and lyrics are metaphorically hitting at that. SIAP

The spin off series will be the story of Eagley.
As far as the opening sequence there are a ton of theories..
1. They kind of move like the game Spaced Invaders.
2. When Peacemaker aims his gun at the camera, the next character is his dad.. so.. foreshadowing.
3. They all do wide arm moves representing butterflies... so.. they all become infected...
Etc..
That's why it's so great

Eagley needs to go on adventures with Dog from The Walking Dead.

Finally got around to watching this yesterday. Love it! Laughed my arse off, so many hilarious bits.
Is he friendly?
Oh yeah. Eagley's amazing.
I love animals... Hey bud- Aww, oh shite! I thought you said he was friendly.
Oh, I thought you meant friendly to me.

How the frick was anyone able to keep a straight face during that intro dance?
Posted on 1/30/22 at 9:32 pm to PhineasFreakaZoid
Chris Heyerdahl manages to make every single role he plays creepy as frick.

They should release a blooper reel version, I bet it would be hilarious.

Jennifer Holland is also fit and hot as hell in this.

Not that it’s a bad thing, but is this the most over the top vulgar, violent, grotesque show ever?
