Guy is a gimmick actor, the offers will never dry up. And with the offers comes his previous name cache so roles he gets offered will command a big price

That being said, I believe if he wants to retire he will because he knows all of the above

So why not take a break? Spend some family time, then come back when you’re ready

I havent seen any of his recent movies, but, Nacho Libre is a stupid comedy masterpiece and extremely quotable. Most people on here seem to hate it, but I love it. For that movie alone, I will always like him.

He says, ignorantly, as Jumanji: The Next Level opens in theaters.

I must have been in a hole. I did not know of this movie. I stand corrected and am indeed ignorant.

Calling what Jack Black does acting is like calling A Christmas Story a Christmas movie.

This comment makes little sense but on the subject, Jack Black is a great actor

Not sure why people hate on Jack Black. He's had an iconic performance in School of Rock, had decent leads in kids movies and a Farrelly brothers film, anchored a highly succesful animated franchise, and is a part of one of the best ensemble casts ever (Tropic Thunder).

I can't think of a film of his I didn't enjoy at least on some level.

The Big Year for instance is an under the radar gem.

I'd just like this opportunity to let everyone know someone put the music to the Legend of the Rent song from School of Rock.

LoL job offers are not drying up for Jack Black

uh, starring vehicles certainly have. Other than super surprise hit Jumanji, Black has:

5 underwhelming movie roles
1 extra
4 uncredited
4 voice roles
14 shorts
9 TV series of 1 ep
1 TV movie

since Bernie in 2011. That's quite a 9 year dry spell. And at 50, his reach is now very limited.

Adam Sandler path, go out with some grace and dignity instead of 20 shitty movies.

This is some real twisting of reality my dude.

3 of the live action movies he did were financially successful kids flicks with Goosebumps 1/2 and The House With A Clock In It's Walls. The other two were low budget indie flicks he wanted to be part of that went to Sundance. The TV movie was produced by Amazon and also went to Sundance. The voice work is mostly for a the successful Kung Fu Panda franchise, he did a cartoon Tenacious D series that is fan service for people who love the band, he had an excellent TV series on HBO w/The Brink, and he pops into stuff like Drunk History b/c it's a fun and easy gig.

All I see is a guy who is taking roles in movies/tv he either is interested in or movies/tv his kids can see. He isn't hurting for work at all.
