All you need to know is that the whole "die hard is a Christmas movie" movement was started by atheists.
Enjoy mocking Jesus on his birthday.

Is Lethal Weapon a Christmas movie?

Die Hard is actually more of a Christmas movie than "It's a Wonderful life" - which just got played during Christmas on TV for 40 years because it was free and people started calling it a Christmas movie. It's a wonderful life" is about a young man and lost dreams and frustration...it just ends on Christmas, but it has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas. It would be like calling the Greek play Antigone, a Christmas play.
There are three legit great pure "Christmas movies" - Miracle on 34th Street with Natalie Wood and O'Hara and "A Christmas story" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas."

Die Hard is not a Christmas movie.
Home Alone is.
Christmas movies have to be wholesome and warm.
People that debate this already know the truth.

I've probably seen this move close to 15 times.
The barefoot walking in glass scene and then the removing the glass scene makes my cringe every time.

Nah
I'm fricking around.
But Jesus doesn't.

Home Alone is a Christmas movie. Die Hard is an awesome action flick that happens to occur on Christmas Eve.

It has bullets riddling cartons of eggnog, so of course it is.

It has just as much reason to be considered a Christmas movie as Die Hard. I just wanted to see if people would be consistent on this one.

Main reason I don't consider this a Christmas movie: it's not something I feel I NEED to see around Christmas. I like the movie and I can watch it whenever, but when this time of year comes around, I'm never "got to watch Die Hard". I agree with the sentiment about Wonderful Life, but my association with it makes it Christmas. And it has all the values and charm that I usually expect with a Christmas movie.

i don't feel i need to see a christmas story (come at me bro), so does that invalidate it as a christmas movie?

well then that furthers my point above
your measuring stick is purely subjective, which means that die hard can easily be a christmas movie for millions if they are allowed to have their own subjective preferences seep into the discussion.

If people want to call it a Christmas movie, more power to them. IMO, it just isn't. Since there isn't an official "Christmas movie" stamp, yeah, it's all subjective.
What do you feel about The Ref?

Die Hard even had the Run DMC Christmas song. What else do you need?
