I've never seen it.
Does this movie still hold up? If I watch Die Hard tonight, will I join in the traditional Christmas fun every year? Or is it more of a nostalgia thing?

It's among the best of the cheesy 80s action films. I enjoyed it for what it was when I saw it for the first time several years ago. But if you like that type of movie you'll probably have a good time.

I think it holds up quite well. It's a classic in the same vein as Casablanca.

great movie.
YOu have to understand, that was the first movie like this in that genre back in the 80's. It started Passenger 57, Under Seige, and the like. So you've probably seen all those and it loses its impact.
It was completely awesome at the theater. First time a cliff hanger type movie really gripped me as I usually am immune to them.

I'm not getting into this again.
All you need to know is that the whole "die hard is a Christmas movie" movement was started by atheists.
Enjoy mocking Jesus on his birthday.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is the best and it isn't really close

You may be taking this M/TV Board thing too seriously.

If die hard isn't a Christmas movie then neither is home alone.
