Summer Blockbuster Movies - since it's been discussed in recent threads.

Good idea in theory, I think that would be tough to nail down.

Would call that one far off.

But great idea.

Could be a good Top 50. That's a limited list though, people would need to have experience with a bunch of them, and that can be rare for older years.

Great one. We'd have to work a drinking game somewhere in here.

Animated films would make for a more fun time I'm sure. Although with Animated, I feel like we could go to 100.

100 would seem to lend itself to just listing animated movies for numbers' sake, whereas 50 would make you actually have to think and pare your list down to movies that deserved to be there.

But that's just my $0.02...coming from someone who doesn't really participate in this (but loves to read the list threads).

Also, if Brave Little Toaster doesn't make that list, then a pox on that shite.

I support the idea for an animated movies list. I would definitely participate in that.

I'd even consider an animated one. Or a sports one.

I like the idea of a serious and a goofy one. Sports or animated on the one hand, foreign language on the other.

50s/60s list is only gonna involve a few posters, as that's long before most posters were born. There's also less likely to be oddball choices as people didn't grow up with those movies.

That would be the plan.

Would aim for December/January so people might have some time to check out 10 or so movies from the time period before hand. Maybe have a "Recommended Viewing" before discussions? Or at least send people to another list to check out some options?

Yeah I'd be willing to recommend some 60s movies.

Top 50 Films from 1960s and Top 50 Films from the 1950s
Smaller counts but do two decades.

Top 50 Sports Movies and Top 50 Foreign Films
Probably the two genres most requested. So I lump them together

geez, I don't think I have seen 50 foreign films in my life and I may be pushing around 80 combined 50s and 60s movies but either of those sound good.

Well, you won't have to vote for 50 films. Probably a ballot of 10-20 to make a final poll of 50.

please do and 50's while you are at it. I think I've seen more 50's movies than 60's however.

I thought we did 20 regardless? Though I'm not sure if i can come up with 10 let alone 20 Foreign language films.

Oh and another category to consider is War movies.

I put them with historical films, unless they want their own category.

8/10 times a historical film is probably a war film though.

I truly support
1. Top 100 comic book movies
2. Top 100 sequels
3. Top 100 remakes

Thanks
