Is Zack Morris to blame for the social problems of Generation Y

For years in the 90's, if you were a kid getting ready for school part of your routine was checking in on what the kids on Saved By The Bell were up to. Sure they taught us lessons and entertained us, but what did Zack Morris teach us? How to coast through school and be totally selfish.
First let's look at school
Zack Morris didn't care about school, he actively looked for ways to get out of class (like being the photographer), he didn't care about class assignments, and he did poorly on tests and graded subjects. Yet he miraculously still gets into Yale thanks to a great ACT score, thus teaching us to coast through high school because your grades really don't matter.
Now let's look at interactions with people
Zack was selfish, he was constantly using people to get what he wants, and convincing people to go a long with him and what he wants. He routinely is making wagers on peoples lives and interfering in their life to win his wager. This teaches us that people are just there for us to use and persuade to use to our advantage.
Next, treatment of women
Zack doesn't deserve Kelly, he uses her, lies to her, manipulates her, and still ends up with her. His treatment of Kelly teaches us that it's okay to manipulate, ignore, and give no priority to the woman in our life, we can just sweet talk her and end up with her anyway.
In conclusion Zack taught a whole generation that they could lie, cheat, manipulate people, not care about school, and use their friends to better themselves and come out clean on the other side. Zack is so self righteous and cares so little about social norms he even BREAKS THE 4th WALL in order to explain himself, something nobody else gets to do, and he certainly shouldn't be either. So Zack Morris, you are what's wrong with the young people of today, I hope you're happy!

but what did Zack Morris teach us?
stopped reading here. It's a frickin TV show. We didn't learn how to cheat school and treat women from Zack Morris any more than we learned to disrespect our parents and be shiteheads from Bart Simpson.

Meh, Kelly was pretty superficial and lacking depth. She cheated on him with her boss, if I remember correctly. They deserved each other.
Kelly almost figured it out when she had a thing for Screech early in the series (before he turned into a buffoon) but she ended up getting in her own way there too.

If you don't want to play along you don't have to

I have to go back to a meeting, but I'm gonna address this when I get done. Kelly was a complete hoe, brah.

I was reading your post thinking you kinda seem like a bitch. Then I got to this part:
Wanna know what Zack NEVER did?--He never cheated on Kelly or made her feel second to anyone.
Wanna know what Kelly did? Cheated on Zack MULTIPLE times and constantly made him compete with other dudes like The Amazing Mexidouchemullet. She TWICE cheated- on him with creepy older dudes-Pedo Jeff and Creepy Prof Laskey--and Zack STILL took her back and put her first.
He was TOO forgiving, TOO devoted. He went above and beyond what the typical Gen Y flunkie or really most normal guys from any generation would.
tl;dr: frick you, Zack Morris is a scholar and a gentleman and you are a beta bitch!
ETA: This is just a prelude. Can't wait til Cocomo e-rips you a new e-a-hole
quote:Holy shite! You're a complete and total bitch. Kelly was a self-absorbed manipulative whore. Zack may have been deceptive sometimes with Kelly but he was always motivated by his desire for her to be happy and for them to be happy together. Ok, so sometimes he let his love for her get to him and he sometimes behaved selfishly, like when he tried to torpedo her modeling gig in France--it still came from a good place of him wanting to be with her and not wanting to lose her.

I love Kelly, but she was no saint. She was fricking Jeff behind Zack's back. She dropped her panties for Johhny Dakota before he could light up his first joint.
If Zack treated women badly, it was due to Kelly being a cold hearted bitch.

Saved By the Bell taught me about propaganda w/bullshite like Zack wrecking Lisa's mom's car after half a beer or Jessi getting addicted to caffeine pills.
Even if it means well, crap like that is what makes kids not believe their parents when it comes to drugs and alcohol.

I knew this thread wouldn't disappoint me
And don't get me wrong, KK was a little hoe sleepy around on Zack and all of that jazz, and really he is even worse for allowing that to happen. The whole relationship is just terrible (and not unlike some of my friends relationships)
SBTB strikes again!

This. Kelly was hot, but the show was pretty lame. It was the teenage version of "Friends".
I was more into "The Simpsons", "Malcolm in the Middle", "Seinfeld", and "Fresh Prince of Belaire"

Zach Morris was an outside the box thinker who used quick and creative decision making skills while engaged in private enterprise or the pursuit of hot tail.

only one of which was on when SBTB was on air.
(hint, the one that is still on TV)

I guess I thought SBTB started later than it did. I thought it had started in '93 rather than wrapped up then. That makes sense. I wasn't born until '91 so I watched it in reruns (my oldest brother was a fan). I just never really cared for it.
