Damn I like the show in general but this chick ruins it for me. The over the top shitty bipolar routine, the constant furrowed brow and twitchy eyes. Its cringe worthy.

I think she is annoying but I do think that that is the character she is playing, her character is a crazy bi-polar chick. Bi-polar people are probably pretty damn close to that.
I am afraid she isnt over acting at all, in fact I wonder how much acting she is really doing... I think she is just that crazy in real life.

I find her hard to watch because she's giving such a realistic performance, and what she's portraying is not a pleasant thing for those around the afflicted person.

Shes garbage. Acting like you can't decide if youre going to cry every .02 seconds is not a very good manic depression portrayal. All shes accomplishing is an emmy for most punchable female face (if I were female of course)

She was hit just the right note the first season and most of the second. Now, whether some think it's realistic or not, she's become ridiculous. Time for an even more over the top SNL parody . . . except it would be impossible to "out parody" what she's doing now.
Oh, and the last episode with the parallel scenes of her and Brody could be another symptom of a crashing and burning series that had promise.

My cousin is bi polar and I would say Carrie fits the bill perfectly. Like a previous poster said its real enough that it makes it uncomfortable to watch. Carrie's character is annoying as shite but being portrayed accurately in my opinion.

Like the show or not, Claire Danes is phenomenal in it. I don't even really like her, but I think her performance is pretty awesome.
