Is MobLand The Greatest Series On TV Currently?

The series returned for Season 2 on September 18, 2026. Drops every Friday exclusively on Paramount+
Season 2
The new season of MobLand finds the Harrigan family struggling to establish a unified front as rival gangs on the rise begin to threaten their existence. As the violence intensifies, loyalties begin to snap within the family. As Tommy bluntly informs Conrad and Maeve in the Season 2 trailer, “This family is in a death spiral.”
If there's a better actor than Tom Hardy out there currently, I'd like to see it. The man just broods!
I loved him as Alfie Solomons (Peaky Blinders), but his Harry Da Souza role is next level. It is so great because he completely commands the screen with "brewing intensity". He balances a ruthless, calculating edge with a deep sense of loyalty, making his character so dangerous. He's the guy who cleans up the mess quietly, making his rare explosions of violence hit way harder.
We're already through the first 3 episodes. Episode 4 will be released on Friday 9 October 2026.

It's a tie with The Gentlemen for me. Both are stellar

Its basically the same show.

Weird use of the laughing / rolling emoji

Considering it's basically the same as The Gentlemen and it comes in second place to it, means no, it isn't.

Interesting comparisons between the two shows.

Reading some articles, and posts on reddit, seems a lot of viewers prefer The Gentlemen for its humor, energy, and comedy. MobLand is liked for its cast and darker tone, but many feel it’s heavier and less fun.

No . . . it’s good, but maybe top 10 at best.

Name ten better shows on tv currently.

Yea, I don’t know of a better show. Currently anyway.

Well, the humor and comedy were dialed waaaaaay back in the second season. The one character who was always hilarious and had some of the best bits in S1 is barely in it and doesn't do or say anything even remotely funny in S2.

Opinions are what they are. “Mobland” is entertaining, but there is not a whole lot of depth to the story. It’s violence and one-liners.
The same can be said about “Landman,”except it’s one-liners and sex
“The Diplomat” and “The Lioness” are better in my opinion.
I could list more, but you’re not going to agree with the first two I listed . . . so you’re certainly not going to agree with any additional shows I list.
To each their own.

Yeah, that was my thinking.
Popular Shows
LOL! You know, looking at that list, and what I've seen this year so far, maybe I change my post to "Fauda". That's a powerful series.
I still love Mobland solely for Tom Hardy. The "Mave/and Conrad Arc" gets grating sometimes.
BUT:
********POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERTS!********
Frankie's move in Episode 3 was great drama. Really puts the family at a real danger. His ride to the warehouse. His dialogue with the Harrigans. More unhinged than anyone probably realized. An interesting and terrifying antagonist.
Possible spoilers, but great summary video:

they just need to dial Mirren back, she's a cartoon character right now

Who didn't know the bike helmet was a weapon? The guard didn't search it. Left behind. Come on.
Maeve is out of control. I fricking hate her, which means Mirren is doing an excellent job of acting.
Harry is too smart for 'em. He's already zeroed in on Seraphina's BS. She's out of her league. The ops guy that banged Jan is going face a bad ending.

I’m into MobLand and yes, may be the best series right now. Landman was great as well.
Some may laugh but Lioness was pretty good.

This is the one downside to the show, she's gotten grating and unwatchable to me. If she kills those dogs we riot.
