It takes a little bit to get started, but not much. Once it does, it's a solid ride and it has one of the best endings of any science fiction series I can think of.
I watched it with English dubs (which weren't bad) AND English CC on, just to make sure I understood everything being said.

Absolutely!! Watch it however you want. I watched it dubbed and it was fine. Probably the best Netflix series I’ve ever watched.

Fake voices are generally just a little anointing to very annoying to me — and I can read well so prefer original language for tone and authenticity while reading for comprehension

I started the first ever thread on this show on here because it was so good initially. Seasons 1 & 2 are sensational but season 3 does not answer any of those mysteries that were setup and is like a totally different show. Season 3 is awful, just awful.

I’ll put in another vote for you having to watch every single minute without any distractions. Even then you’ll be confused. But it’s a great show. Probably the best on Netflix.

I agree honestly I put this in the same echelon as Breaking Bad and Lost in terms of creativeness story telling and overall uniqueness

I havent seen it but halfway through 1899 so I will probably start Dark next.
As for how to watch Netflix had the dubbing and CC on initially for 1899 and I switched it to original since I cant stand having what I hear and what I see be different. IDK why.
Also I feel like it makes me pay more attention when I have to read what they are saying.

I agree with the folks about watching it in German with subtitles. I started watching it at first in English but then switched and it just seemed to flow better in their language. A really good show for sure
