Because the first one was really good and popular?

quote:Seems like a pretty logical choice to make a sequel given how teenagers go through a lot of changes that the "emotions" from part 1 would need to adapt to all the new feels.
Why?
Hope that helps.

one of the last legit Pixar movies.

A bigger why is Toy Story 5. Toy Story's, story ended 2 movies ago. Inside Out 2 makes sense as there are more emotions to explore as we age.

I will watch as many Toy Storys as they put out as long as they are good movies.

If they’re going to make an entire movie about a young girl getting her period , Red, then why not? As long as it doesn’t go full Wreck-It Ralph 2, which was depressing as frick.

I mean, Inside Out I think actually called for a sequel and probably trilogy. I see more potential for an Inside Out 5 over a Toy Story 5 for instance.

I still can’t believe how terrible that sequel was and really had almost nothing to do with gaming and seems like they only wanted to stuff all of their Princesses to market and sell more shite.
I think the sequel is obvious: the arcade is shutting down and they need to find another place to go, which yes would also use the internet but not really a central focus. Like how the previous one paid reference to Donkey Kong, MarioKart, and Metroid/Halo, make the next one reference Zelda, Street Fighter, and Final Fantasy and if you could get the rights maybe make Ganondorf or Sephiroth as the main antagonist, a bad guy who actually is a bad guy for once.

They were so heavy-handed with the princess stuff, it was a bit much

Pixar has made some dumb choices imo. It's animation, do some weird fun shite. Trying to recreate real life is dumb. Obviously not with everything they've done, inside out included.

Disney Princesses… schwing!

Yeah but that’s because you have no good creative thinking skills.

They’ve taken toys as far as they can go as far as I’m concerned. Toy Story 1 you have the boy’s room, toy torturer, and a move, Toy Story 2 you get toy stores, toy collectors, and the dark threat of toys inevitable fate, Toy Story 3 you got the daycare, the incinerator, and the kid moving on from his toys and growing up.
Toy Story 4 on the other hand you have making fork toys, the fair, and an antique store… yeah that’s bottom of the barrel there.
Inside Out though, you can really follow Riley for a long portion of her life. We got childhood in the last one and getting puberty in this one. High school, college, getting into the real world, getting married, having a kid, and being a parent can all be movies on their own, and can work without it getting old and going over things you did in previous movies.

I love reading stuff like this, gives me a good laugh
These movies are not marketed towards you. None of the people who they market these movies to have any idea who any of the people you are referencing are. When they bother to make a reference to something you like, it’s either coincidental, something the developers care about, or designed to make you make your kids watch it. Why would they bother to make a movie catering to your demographic when 95% of the people who will watch aren’t in your demographic?
Grow up dude

Yep. It always funny how people complain about children movies as an adult with the idea that they "need to make kids movies like they did when I was a kid"
The irony hits them right square in the face and they still don't realize it.

Yeah, how is it working out for Disney telling people who grew up with them and loved their products to frick off? They managed to make a Buzz fricking Lightyear movie bomb, probably the most popular and iconic animated character created in my lifetime. That should be theoretically impossible to do.
Back in the day people grown and young alike would go to watch a movie in a theater knowing nothing but one word: Pixar. It was a near guarantee to be a masterpiece and a classic. Not anymore. Inside Out 2 may get some of these former fans back into the seats, but quite frankly it’s been since The Incredibles 2 anyone really had these thoughts about Pixar, and they haven’t made a truly great film since Coco.

Going back to Bugs Bunny & Warner Bros, cartoonists routinely would aim their jokes and gags at kids but there was always a wink & a nod to the parents, older folks who they'd know were also watching. That's what makes such movies and shows 'timeless'. A style that today's studios are actively rejecting, to their own demise.
The idea of 'it's not made for you!' is what is acting like a dead albatross around the necks of some studios. Of course it's 'for' the kids, but there's a kid in all of us who have since grown up. That's the timeless aspect of so much of the older stuff.

I don’t see any irony here. Is Pixar even remotely the same now as it was say 10 years ago? Definitely not 15 years ago. Why are you defending a massively inferior product to what they were making?
The last truly great movie they’ve made is now seven years ago, and that’s when Lasseter was running the place. Now it’s just this:
