There was a tremendous build up to this point. Dr Strange is on Titan, and we had no Captain Marvel yet. Hulk got annihilated and was gone. So to us, the audience, the only hero capable of taking out Thanos was just prior out leveling-up with a new badass weapon. So- the scene when he arrives had added weight. it was a triumph. The music swells, then there's Thor with the axe. I'm in my 40s, but I admit it gave me chills.

I'd add Dr. Strange to those 3.
In the comics, there's a scene in a What If? comic where Korvac (google) takes over. He banishes the only 3 on Earth or in Earth's atmosphere that might be capable of putting up a fight. Those 3 were Silver Surfer, Phoenix, and Dr. Strange.

disagree, Thor's realization that he didn't need Mjölnir in Ragnarok and fuggin lightning flying out of his eyeballs was
best moment in MCU movie history.
It’s the immigrant song that really elevates that scene above the Infinity War scene, IMO.

And Batman. Who would've been proactive after learning that Thanos was after the stones, that the Avengers already had access to three stones, and he just needed to go to Vormir and throw a Robin over the cliff to get the Soul Stone.

Then he pops the stones onto Marty McFly's Nintendo Power Glove, they take the Magic School Bus to the planet Titan, they zap Thanos.

Easy peasy, Jubileesy.

Fat Thor was risky and you either loved or hated it. I loved it and thought it was one of the best things in the movie. And it fit the tone that they’ve been going for these past few years.

Thor arrives in Wakanda- best moment in MCU movie history.

as cool as that entrance is, "on your left" in endgame still gets me emotional every time i see that seen. the entire MCU lead up to that moment. the final epic battle scene.

They also made banner a goofy dork in part one. He was more comic relief...Siri dunking on him, the kneeling thing, tripping in the hulk buster, the line when Thor came.

They definitely did Banner dirty by stealing away his seriousness. The Incredible Hulk and the Ruffalo Hulk are allegedly the same character, but you wouldn’t know it watching any of the movies Banner Ruffalo is in.

That’s really the only huge fault of these movies. Banner is easily the weakest avenger.

You mean the only enemy on the battle field that isn't an unintelligent animal, the person that saw Thanos destroy his ship and him floating around in space?
I wasn't talking about every single 6 legged dog that was fighting as the enemy, but thanks for clarifying this for everyone.

To address your points.

1. I hated what happened to Hulk. Thanos did whip his arse. But if anyone remember in 08 Hulk movie with Ed Norton(I wish Marvel could have convinced him to stay), Hulk was getting beat down by the Abomination until he got angrier in classic Hulk fashion. My personal headcaon is this, Hulk had a lot of growth since the 08 movie. Then, he was a mindless mean-green fighting-machine. By the time of Infinity War, he was no longer mindless. He spent an entire 2 years on Sakar beating people up and living the luxury life. Hulk developed an ego. Thanos beat the ego out of Hulk and completely embarrassed him. Thanos beat hulk up so bad, that Hulk wanted to stay inside and pout instead of coming out to play.
I do agree, the Russos missed out huge on not letting Hulk Hulk-out in the endgame battle. I was really waiting for Hulk would see Thanos and to want his revenge.

2. Honestly, I never noticed that Thanos was using the infinity stones against Wanda in that scene. He's using the Power stone, we all know how powerful the power stone is, yet Wanda effectively held hip back with half of her focus.
Yea in EG battle, once Captain Marvel joined the battle Thanks and crew had no chance. The combined might of Marvel, Witch, Strange, Fat Thor, and Mjonir Cap could have easily killed Thanos along with the Black Order (who didn't do shite in the final battle)

3. Something I didn't notice in my first watch, but I learned later on. Apparently comic Carol has the ability to absorb energy. If you pay close attention to the scene, at first, Thanos throws her around and overpowers her. Then her body starts glowing, and she quickly gains the upper hand. I think she was absorbing Infinity Stones energy at that time(which would make her EXTREMELY powerful).

And you can't forget Howard the Duck's entrance in that scene as well. But in all seriousness, just seeing all of the different groups from all over the world and universe enter the battlefield (the Asgardians, the Wakandans, the Ravagers, etc.) in addition to the superheroes was pretty awesome.

this also made fat thor even worse though

I really enjoyed Fat Thor, he was good comedic relief while also seeing the effects of the Snap.

But when he goes "let's kill him properly this time" and commands lightning with Mjonir and Stormbreaker in both hands. He should have instantly went back to his regular physique, just like his outfit changed. I mean he is a God, so I don't think it's a stretch of the imagination to say he could go back to his regular physique in a lightning instant.

I’m not sure who said it, it the statement was made that the characters are only as strong as the plot needs them to be.

Fat Thor was awful. Awful. And not the fact that he was fat. Like you said, he was depressed, which makes complete sense. But just the way they handled him was a joke. And he never got redemption. Like I figured at some point he’d grab Mjolnir or his hammer and hit up some lightning and be back to god Thor. But nope. Never happened.

This is akin to m main criticism of Ragnarok. The tone was all wrong. It’s like Marvel saw RDJ’s Tony Stark was a hit with his smart-arse wisecracking so they turned all the characters’ movies into a Hope/Crosby road show. Not to mention the fact the God of Thunder was easily subdued by a minor Asgardian character and a probe in his neck made him squeal like a 5th grade girl. It was a fun movie, but a terrible Thor movie.

I don’t think she actually let him use once she got to him. She kept his hand open. Its the same trick they used in Infinity War when fighting Thanos on Titan a few times to keep him from using a power on them.

I like The Russos but they fricked over Hulk pretty bad in both movies, there was no pay off to his essentially sitting out Pt 1....just ho hum oh yeah we're combined now. Didn't even get to rampage in that final battle scene much less get another shot at Thanos.

Agreed. Was very jarring how they resolved that shite with a conversation at a diner.

I felt like Ragnarok was trying way too hard to be GotG rather than Iron Man. It was an enjoyable enough movie, but ultimately it felt like it was trying too hard to force humor instead of actually just being funny naturally. That was my main gripe with Ragnarok.

Maybe be so, but it’s way better than any of that shite DC is putting out for the justice league.
