Went this morning.

-not gonna say Thor is my favorite, because it's still spiderman...but holy shite he was awesome
-the "3 and 4 are two different movies" line was obviously bullshite.
-a family behind us walked out went BP disappeared
-i never realized how much I wanted a Peter Quill/Tony Stark movie until now. My god they were great together.
-speaking of Quill, THIS IS WHY WE CANT HAVE NICE THINGS
-I love dinklage, but that was the worst accent I've ever seen in a movie...and my wife was watching Reese Witherspoon in sweet home Alabama today.

For a huge mashup/crossover movie, that was awesome. I can see where people would feel certain characters didn't get enough screen time but they did it extremely well.

Excellent job with Thanos as well. I don't wanna say he makes sense, but his motivation is pretty clear and he doesn't deviate. I loved him.

Or maybe just, "Marvels Avengers" considering the only people left are the first and original Avengers from the first movie.

"The Maw" was a very good character, hated how they killed him off too soon imo. My main deal was how disposable they made the Order. Really bothers me that they didnt even say their names other than Maw.

I've been hearing this from comic fanboys but there's just no way they could have fit them into the story reasonably given how much has been built up to Thanos.

I get it, but as far as I know the black order could have been major villains in their own right and that would have required several more movies.

Assuming they stick to the comics, it'll be interesting how they do the ad campaign for part 2. Will they just go with assuming everyone knows/thinks everyone comes back or actively try and conceal it like GOT has done by keeping everything revealing out of trailers and concealing actor credits?

It'll also be interesting to see if they use the buyers remorse Thanos has in the comics or not.

I was kinda surprised how true to the comics and "dark" they made the black order. Those guys are definitely gonna scare some kids who go see this.

Which should be fine. Marvel comics were not written with a 21st century Disney level filter.

I heard just the other day in one of the infinity war story lines in he comics, the infinity stones are distributed between individuals to protect them from future abuse and one of the characters pip the troll sticks the stone up his arse.

Marvel was not meant for small action figure children.

You also saw the failure of trying to appeal to literally every segment of society in the star wars prequels. They tried to shove so much shite into those movies to appeal to every possible market that they ultimately ended up fricking the up.

I believe you. There was a family in front of me that made the wakanda forever sign with their arms on their chest when black panther first showed up in the movie. Cringe

What a waste of money. Just put a black panther poster on your wall and be done. It's obvious the narrative in which the black panther character operates has no meaning.

Just got back and thought they did a very good job. Rotten Tomatoes is trash and this proves it. Anybody thinking DC puts out a comparable product is taking crazy pills

Black Panther got the highest rated score.

Black Panther was a quintessential mediocre marvel origin story.

Very similar writing the first captain America. It could not have been more mediocre to me.

It wasn't bad but you are absolutely right. I need to time to digest this one a bit more and see where it lands. It is hard to beat Winter Soldier for me

Just got back from my second viewing and it’s just as great.

I did notice that even the infinity stones looked fried along with the gauntlet after the Snap

From what I've read in reviews, that seems to be true for almost everyone.

I think the winter soldier had the luxury of being a stand alone captain America movie though while infinity war had to pack in a lot more.

My top 4 in no particular order are:

GotG, iron man 1, winter soldier, infinity war

Yeah I'm not so sure it will be so easy as to just use the gauntlet to reverse everything. I think the other one with the Dwarf will come into play.

I didn't get a good enough look at it. I'll definitely be going to see this again. I hope they do well with Captain Marvel

Unless that was the one way to victory Strange saw.

Ding ding ding!

My exact thought when reflecting after the movie. He said giving him the stone was the only way...it was possible that Thanos was getting the time stone no matter what and Strange saw that.
