Well, TDK wasn't "meh" at all. But many posters here were spooging themselves on this board throughout the summer of 2008 over it. I was embarrassed for some of them.

2008 was a solid summer for movies too. Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk dropped that summer too.

This. It is most definitely not the greatest thing since sliced bread as some people seem to think it is, but to say that it was "meh" is really stretching it. Yeah, it has its flaws as every movie does but it is still a very solid, very entertaining movie. It is easily in the discussion for "greatest comic book movie ever".

I definitely enjoy Batman Begins better. TDK just isn't one of those movies I can watch whenever it is on.

I have mixed expectations of this movie.

I've liked all of Nolan's movies except Batman Begins, and I loved Memento, Inception, and TDK.

I worry that Hathaway won't be able to pull off Catwoman and I worry (because of the trailer) that her character will reflect the ideology of 'occupy wall street' and I can't take that seriously. I worry that Bane's voice will be difficult to understand and that that will take away from his menace. I worry about the resolution - a sunshine and rainbows ending won't work for this trilogy but I suspect that the studio may try to exert pressure that way. I also worry about inflated expectations, as Dark Knight was easily the best superhero movie that I've ever seen, with the only competition being Watchmen.

That being said, I expect it to be one of the two or three best movies of the year and for myself to totally love it.

I'm not a big fan of the "meh" review. It's just so offensively dismissive. Some movies deserve that, but I will say that TDKR certainly had a lot of effort go into it. Even if it isn't OMIGOD! amazing, I doubt I'd call it "meh."

But I have no problems saying what I like and what I don't. I don't own a piece of the profits -- what do I care if the movie bombs?

At home in the bear den. Mrs. Baloo was induced on Wednesday night... and again on Saturday morning at 7 AM. She finally gave birth at 3:18 AM on Sunday, which means she was in labor for about four days, and "hard" labor for about 20 hours. The bear cub will hear about it in the future, I'm sure.

The baby is super-mega cute.

Congrats. And what's the first album the cub will hear? Ha.

I hate being a movie critic like so many on here seem to revel in. It just makes you seem pretentious and like you can't enjoy anything in life. More times than not, I'll see the good in a movie and enjoy it...it takes an effort for me to say a movie is terrible.

That being said, I honestly believe that worst case scenario here is that TDKR is a top 10 comic book movie all time which would put it in good company
