Well to be fair thats a solid group of questions. This just wasnt a movie for the purposes of developing characters. It was more based on survival, and most survival movies go like this. The thing with Afflecks kid was to just to have the resolution at the end of everyone else offering money. I wish they would have gone into more detail about wtf was going on, but that didnt effect the story at all. It was all about the guys trying to escape disaster. Like I said, you take this type of movie FWIW.

i understood it, but the frustration of Ben Affleck's character showing his greed as the plot went on just sucked the life out of it for me.

**HUGE SPOILER**

I felt he got what he deserved when ole boy came back for him and gave Ben a bullet. It showed that his bad old self was coming back. They stated mildly throughout the movie that they used to kill all the time and they were done. Well Ben comes back hesitantly and whenever they started the mission, he lost his mind.

I thought it was one of the better Affleck movies I've seen. Not great but entertaining and nothing you had seen before.

I think he knew he was overly trigger happy and would rather waste away being poor than go back to killing folks.

But once he got out there, all bets were off.

5.5/10

First part was cheesy and boring. The heist was suspenseful and pretty good. Last half was predictable and felt rushed.

Worth a watch on a lazy Sunday but don't expect anything ground breaking.

Extremely mediocre. Acting was very meh, felt like they were just there for the paycheck and the dialogue/writing was very amateurish

It was worth the price of admission just to see Affleck’s character development.

not a good movie at all.
cost 80M to make (shot on location in Hawaii and Colombia)

Love JC's work for the most post, but this frankly was average

Yikes. For comparisons sake it cost $35M to make Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado and $40M to make Lone Survivor

Watched this last night.

It's a solid watch, especially with the cast.

For some reason though, it felt cheap.

The effects weren't bad or anything but something about the lighting/camera/etc just made it seem cheap. The tone it created was that of like a made for tv movie but the cast/performances made up for it.

It's a story/plot we've seen dozens of times but there is still a good amount of tension

Solid 6.5/10 imo

Started losing me when they were doing recon on the house and ironhead was at the tennis courts 10 feet from an assassination talking out loud and nobody heard him. From that point on it was just sloppy.

Not a good movie. Predictible and the last half of the movie just plain sucked.

I watched it this weekend with the wife. The heist seemed cool, but everything else was just meh. Lot of holes in the plot, and random things that just wouldn't/couldn't happen. The mexican guy selling the plan to his army buddies never seemed believable to me, and the second half of the movie they basically climb Mt. Everest hauling 4 tons of cash? A lot of stretches in the plot, but it occupied 2 hours of my Sunday night. 5/10
