The Phoenix force is widely considered one of the strongest beings in all of Marvel comics. It's not some grand assertion to make this claim.

I'd like to see on film the interaction between Captain America and a certain older gentlemen who, as a young jewish boy, was rescued from Birkenau by him.

There's MANY instances in the comics in which Magneto has an almost reverence for Steve Rogers because of what he did despite him being human.

Well they better do it soon because it's soon going to be hard to justify a holocaust survivor still being alive in....say....2022?

Some people have issues with X-men bc everything about the X-men carries a very "serious" tone. This includes the characters and the films themselves. Even back in the comic book glory days I remember X-men being criticized for being too intense.

Avengers/MCU has a joyous and fun appeal to it - it's like caricatures of comic book heroes themselves.

Day of Future Past does not belong in the same sentence as these others.

I'd like to see Ororo Munroe in the Black Panther sequel.

X-Men is a much better property in the comics. I'm hopeful the MCU will use them well. Maybe they can give Rogue her real backstory with Captain Marvel now in the mix.

Rogue's real backstory involves a very toxic relationship with Mystique and Destiny.

Even then, X-Men are more popular than the Avengers at least for a long time.

Not really, they were just really really Silver Age. And that was with Kirby/Stan and a little after that. Since 2000 with Hickman, Bendis, Millar, Busiek, etc. The Avengers have been super modern and serious.

I agree with this, unless civil war is an avenger movie.

The thing is that the overall average quality of the avenger movies are better b.c there were several xmen movies that weren't that great (X3 for instance). I really what makes xmen potentially better as a franchise is magneto. Magneto is an awesome anti-hero, and his dynamics make the films (and comics). Not to mention Ian McKellan and fasbender are amazing actors.

Infinity War is infinitely better than DFOP, a largely forgotten movie.

Why does Fox get crapped on but the MCU gets a pass for their crap films? The phase 1 MCU films, (aside from IM) Doctor Strange, the Ant Man films, those are all mediocre films.

And XM1, AoA, DFOP, XMOW, likely Dark PhoneiX, The Wolverine, DP2...

Also, F4, ROSS, Fan4stic.

Crap film vs mediocre film. Can you explain the difference because in one sentence you said MCU had crap films but then described them as mediocre.

Call me a fairweather fan if you will, but I have never gotten into comic books really. But based on the tv show that came on in the 90s and early 2000s, I have always been a huge X-men fan. Night crawler was always one of my favorite characters growing up.

I absolutely loved the original Xmen movies, X3 was the worst of the 3, but I still enjoyed it. Then when FC came out, I absolutely loved it. DOFP was a slight letdown, and Apocalypse was just full on bad.

In terms of the characters, the stories, the team, etc. I think I am more of a fan of Xmen. In terms of body of work with the quality of movies and whatnot, there is absolutely nothing that can beat the Avengers and the MCU.

I don't get that honestly. Logan was a good film, and easily the best of the 3 solo Wolverine movies. But it is not that memorable of a movie for me.
