I've been desparetly waiting for another Nazi show now that the History Channel has moved on.

Can't wait to rehash this sparse genre...and by now, it is its own genre.

just finished the first episode, and I absolutely loved it. If the rest of the series lives up to the first episode it should be a lot of fun.

No doubt, this was a great premiere. Amazon obviously put a lot of money into this and the quality looks great so far.

First episode is an hour and a half for anyone wanting to check it out so make sure you’ve got time to watch the whole episode. Plays like a movie so worked out well for us as a weekend watch.

For those complaining about “another Nazi show”, I do think it’s important to point that this is actual Nazis, not some modern group being labeled as such.

The series takes place in 1977, so the people they are “hunting” are actual high ranking Nazi officers, now elderly, that escaped, hid their identities, and tried to blend in as immigrants that survived the war.

It plays like a blend of Man in the High Castle, Inglorious Basterds, with some X Files mixed in, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, as it’s definitely a period piece with violence that would make QT giddy.

It’s got some great acting, notably from Pacino, who seems to be actually acting for a change instead of just doing the same screaming character he’s been doing since Scent of a Woman

And anyone who isn’t familiar with Dylan Baker’s work will get a crash course on his acting chops in the very first scene, which is mind blowing.

Also, Alias fans get a nice little bump of nostalgia in the last scene

With the rest of the 10 episodes being a full hour long, hoping they keep this pace up and not a lot of filler and can finish it strong, looking forward to it, though this will be one that takes us a few weeks to finish up I’d guess

Hit Werner von Braun with the jumper cables was the best part so far.

I think it speaks to the continuing impact of the holocaust. This is a Jewish revenge fantasy. It’s an opportunity to feel strong.

Such things aren’t uncommon. Look at the Death Wish movies.

A Jewish friend was excited about one of these, and he was surprised by my disinterest when he mentioned it.

I explained that the Nazis were a threat my grandfathers dealt with. And so it didn’t resonate.

He has trouble appreciating that.

For him the holocaust was yesterday, and Nazis are an enduring threat. Also, painfully, the Jews never had an opportunity to defeat them.

Victory was a good thing. But the Jewish people never had their moment of triumph, and that’s left an open wound.

This is a good show.

Al Pacino actually does a good job in this. He really hasn't had a good performance since Big Boy Caprice in Dick Tracey. No shite. In my opinion, that's his last really good performance.

I now know where Quentin Tarantino's mojo went. Right into this David Weil guy, the show's creator. Visually, it looks good as a period piece and the dialogue is pretty sharp.

I've got a feeling this will finish strong.

Oh, one other thing. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER...

The first episode has one of the best and boldest full frontal scenes in history. You're gonna love, Love, LOVE IT!!

I’ll admit I didn’t watch any trailers and was expecting something like Munich. But this is basically Kingsmen: Nazi Edition. That said, I’m enjoying it. I also predict the PoliBoard will feel attacked when they watch it.
