also, they did it the main character on purpose. Not a side character, but the main role that should have gone to a young aspiring White actress. Same with Snow White, Little mermaid, etc. It's on purpose and you're too blind to see it.

So odd that those reeeing the loudest about muh representation and insisting on minorities being seen haven’t the hint of hesitation to overwrite, gender or race swap authentic populations for the sake of duhversity.
Appropriation is only a thing when they need it to be.
Fans can only conclude that minorities HAVE no interesting myths, tales or legends of their own.

It should certainly mostly white, if you're going for realism, which they clearly are not. The idea that a culture built on raiding and pillaging all over Europe, going into turkey and the edge central Asia, would remain totally homogeneous seems pretty stupid.

Here’s a statement almost too ridiculous sounding to type, but it’s my response:

The voice actress was doing her job, ACTING. Which is a form of pretend. What was she pretending to be? A real life character based on a person who is from a culture of Vikings. Northern European people of almost exclusively Scandanavian lineage.
And don't pretend that those still living in the far North were even remotely as mixed a society as who later set off to conquer and settle foreign lands. Most of which, again, where populated by other groups of Northern Europeans.
The head canon being spewed out on this board on matters which clearly few (if any) have a clue of what they're saying is fantastic. On par with the fantasy of actually training dragons.
*And yes, Astrid actually has its origins in Old Norse. Not the Caribbean, or out of Compton.
