It ain't broke so don't fix it

Nothing because it's fine as it is?

Guess y'all think Season 7 was on par with the rest of the seasons. I would put it above season 5 and that is it. It had some good scenes and the action scenes were really good, but the plot and story telling really suffered.

I mean....that really can't be helped. The showrunners aren't as good at writing as Martin and, because of Martin's refusal to write another page, they are flying almost totally blind. Quality will dip as a result.

Martin, for all his time taking and general shitty attitude, is an extremely talented writer. GoT is as big as it is today because they had fantastic source material to work with.

There are six episodes left. If you think it’s broken (it’s not), it’s a bit too late don’t you think?

Too late to fix it. Just have to wait to get the real story and ending

Oh yeah. Not many people are actually criticizing his writing quality. Thats not the problem.
Its his writing quantity, rate, and general frick you attitude to his fans that are waiting for him to finish writing his 6th/7th book with the idea that he will literally fricking die before finished the 7th book just brooding in the back of their minds
That and the fact that all that leads to far less than the best quality story that could be put into the Show.
I mean think about it. They are putting so much effort, time, and money into this show (which I love and watch religiously) but only to have the quality of the last few, and most important seasons, suffer because of lack of written material to go off of.
To name just a few things that suffered in the show because of it:
Dorn
Barriston
the whole journey to the north with Jon
Bran
Sansa
Jon's parentage reveal
etc etc.
Again, im not saying the show it terrible, but its just a shame its not living up to what it COULD be due to the Fat Man

I don't think it's even that. What made the earlier seasons better is that you never knew what would happen or who would die next. At some point in the Game of Thrones the field of 64 becomes 32 and 16 and so on. In the end there can be only 1 and there are fewer surprises to be had. The only way to make it "like it was" is to make non essential side characters interesting distractions from the fact that you're down to the Elite 8 or Final 4. Maybe that was the aim of Grey Worm and Missandei but the execution was very bad.

It's broken? It's the best current show on TV... looks like clickbait.

Too late to save it.
They just not very good writers. Or at the very least, they’re lazy writers.

That's funny because the exact opposite is true

Bunch of Hodors in this thread. I agree it was some shite tier writing this season

Example. Tommen should have probably died in that battle against the King of the North. It seems the show became too tied to the characters. The last three episodes are usually the best of each season. This time they left me feeling underwhelmed. Especially when Dani goes to the rescue.
I know, Night King had to get a dragon. Bah. THe idea of using a horn to bring down the wall is much more appealing and doesn't use plot tricks that are ridiculous.

It’s not. Writing is not as good as previous seasons. But since it’s GoT, you can’t really talk critically about without being labeled as a “hater” or get the generic response of “if you don’t love it, don’t watch it”.

Season 7 felt rushed and very bad IMO, but of course it won’t turn me off of the show.

The best TV show ever made needs to be "fixed" :rotflmao:
