A movie for kids about how after all the fear of dying we live with on earth l, theirs another death to fear in the afterlife?

I actually really like it but that’s some heavy shite for a kids movie.

Dude, that shite is child’s play compared to the animated movies I grew up with.

All Dogs go to Heaven being one of the ones looking back, like damn that’s some dark material for a child.

It's a very sad movie. But I didn't think it was fricked up. I thought it was great. Made me want to get some photos of mi familia out for all saints day this year.

I don’t think kids notice those things and process them like we do. Also, OML must be banned if he hasn’t responded by now, you may have cut him deep with your post.

I mean it’s extremely common for kids movies to broach heavy topics and try to translate them for kids in these movies

How are 90s kids so fricking soft with movies that dark?

Land Before Time, ol' boy's mom gets straight killed in front of him. Real dark under tones in that one.

Yup. I lived in Dubai until the age of 5. My parents would just get whatever looked like a cartoon at the local store not realizing how fricked up they may have been. When we moved back to the States, my mom would just rent a movie for me without reading the box or looking at the rating. I saw Heavy Metal the movie way younger than I was prepared for.

Secret of Nimh
Rock & Rule
Hugo the Hippo a crazy arse psychedelic movie about a hippo's family being murdered by sharks, or some shite
Heavy Metal: The Movie (not meant for children)
Starchaser: The Legend of Orin
The Last Unicorn

Welcome to Disney/Pixar bro.

Also what I’ve learned from Coco and Encanto is that the key to success in Latin America is a dead patriarch.

And how about Pinocchio being kidnapped and sent to Pleasure Island, smoking and boozing it up, watching his pal turn into a donkey, and barely escaping the same fate and being sold into slavery

After I watched it with my kids, they asked to see pictures of my grandparents and other family members who have passed. I sat on my back porch and cried like a baby all evening remembering them. There’s children all across this world growing up in warzones and famine. Your kids learning to appreciate their ancestors and family tree is not a burden or overly heavy.

6 yr old me had no idea Optimus was going to die in the movie. Then bam, he gets beat the frick to death in the beginning. Movie was way more violent than the show.

My 5 year old daughter was watching this yesterday and I had completely forgotten about the entire dark human trafficking storyline.

Great movie.

Scene where Miguel is crossing over the bridge and a mother and her daughter are crossing the other way. Hits me in the feels every time, especially having a 4 year old daughter now.

Not the only messed up Pixar movie.

Inside Out is pretty dark. IIRC, the filmmakers acknowledged that they thought about making it darker by raising the possibility of what would happen to Riley if she did successfully run away from San Francisco back to Minnesota.

Starchaser? Isn’t that the 3D one where the fairy flies into the robot’s head and he blows his head off trying to get at it?

Not sure. The only things I remember from that movie was the invisible sword, and a female robot who had to get her software rebooted through a hatch located in her arse.
