Nothing hit harder than Optimus dying in the 1st half of the Transformers movie.

It happens in the first few minutes. "You Have the Power" is blaring, Optimus comes in like a badass, blasting people, and has the amazing quote "One shall stand, and one shall fall". Then the awesome back and forth between him and Megatron. It wasn't until the worst Transformer ever Hot Rod showed up did Megatron get the fatal blow.

God I still hate Hot Rod.

But yeah I broke the Beta Max player from watching that movie too many times. Still in my top 3 movies of all time and I will drive down to the Sonic if anyone disagrees.

My four year old watches Coco EVERY SINGLE DAY. Every once in a while we put on the Spanish version just to see how long it will take for him to figure it out.

Wildcat,

You think they teach kids that after you die & achieve the afterlife you have to fear “dying” again?

12 grades of catholic school & I don’t remember that lesson.

That movie scared me shitless as a kid. And Anne-Marie was one of the first movie characters whose story really broke me. I'm welling up just thinking about it.

I only found out a few years ago that the child star from that movie was abused and eventually murdered by her own father. He killed her mother (his wife) too. Chickenshit then took his own life. Poor girl was only 10. The parallels between the actress and the last part she played aren't lost on me.

I don't think I could ever bring myself to watch that movie again.

I hated it as a kid. I think I was literally too young to understand the heaviness of it. Prime was pretty much all I knew and then boom gone. My little brain couldn’t even process that the head good guy wouldn’t win and then just kinda checked out for the rest of the movie.

I just read her bio.

Wow.

That’s insanely tragic. I also did t realize she had been in so many movies/shows in such a short time.

Some good ones on that list. I vividly remember The Last Unicorn. It reminds me of another one called Unico and the Island of Magic. Plot wise, it's moderately fricked up, but the animation is from another world. It's terrifyingly psychedelic and I can't believe my parents let me watch it.

So did guy who doesn’t know how to infer the English language correctly, but I digress

I wasn’t saying churches were teaching the exact same thing as Coco here, I’m saying if you think Coco translating a serious topic into understandable terms for children is crazy, then you would probably be suprised that churches use the exact same narrative concept to bring people into their religion.

Loved that movie because we read the book Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH around 4th grade or so. There were 3 books in the series, but the second two weren't quite as good
