What it feels like is they had some Mando S3 ideas for Boba Fett but the Robert Rodriguez came in and directed an episode and enjoyed it so much that he pitched the series, and they didn't want to tell him no.
So they took what they had as B story for Mando and tried to flesh it out more and we're seeing the hits and misses of that. I don't think the whole series is bad, or unnecessary, episode 3 was pretty weak but episode 2 was great, IMO.

They're building to something big. The worst part is Boba Fett himself sucks as a character in this show.

frick you. It's just boring and formulaic. Fett is kind of a pussy and I don't give a shite about the rich and vibrant culture of the Sand People. After the things we've seen them depicted as doing, it's absurd.
Even with that, it's not super woke, but you can see the woke wheels turning. It won't end well.

I don't know why but I just feel like he's different from the OG Fett in style and character. Something is just off about it. I like the series because of the way its filmed, but I don't know, it's not wowing me yet.
Maybe I just wanted a Boba Fett series that focused on him as a bounty hunter, running around the galaxies capturing people and stuff.

I think the show would be better if he kept his helmet on the entire time like Mando. Obviously can't for flashbacks but current time line.

I mean, did Boba Fett ever live up to the hype? He had like three quick shots in Empire and was knocked into the salesclerk pit rather unceremoniously.
