I don't know that I've ever really laughed during this show or its predecessor, but that little lord pwning Daemon over and over again had me rolling. He tamed Daemon like a dragon and got him to execute that guy just as sure as saying "Dracarys". I don't know where this dynamic is going, but it's sure starting in a weird fricking place.

Pretty elegant way to eliminate your bastard kin. The Blackfyre Rebellions might have happened sooner without that roast
100l% agree

I was just wondering if they call that scene "The Burning of The Bastards". lol

IIRC, Jace was the one looking for bastard dragonseeds in the book. Why change it up and then make him rail against it in the show?

Wasn’t it his idea in the first place to find bastards and make them dragon riders? Why was he being such a bitch about it when it actually happened?

It appears Silverwing (I can’t remember that drunken bastard rider’s name) was sent by Rhaenyra to buzz King’s Landing
I think Ulf was just going on a joy ride

She was named heir. The greens were not.
But that’s not always how it works. It’s pretty much, who will “the people” back? Robert Baratheon wasn’t named heir by anyone, he took that shite.

I guess we are officially not getting Nettles. Is Rhaena going to get Sheepstealer?

Yeah she was named heir by Viserys but that is basically the only reason she should be considered queen.
Thats a pretty solid one, though. And not that I particularly care for Rhaenyra—though she was badass sometimes as a youngster and preferable to Alicent—but I liked Viserys. And this is what he wanted and decreed. Let Aemond take the throne from a Strong bastard later if he is so inclined. Rhaenyra was “the Realms delight”, and the people could be easily swayed(if swaying was even necessary) to support her.
Things could likely have proceeded peacefully for a while if the Hightowers had not interfered. Alas, this is how it was written, so here we are.

I can see not rooting for the Greens...but Rhaenyra is a bitch and as unlikeable as any character.
The weak spot in this show is there is no likable character, there's nobody to cheer for, and nobody who's death would be emotional.

It seems pretty clear that's the route they are taking.

In the show he doesn't suggest bastards, he suggests noblemen with different last names who had Targaryen blood in their lines from a female Targaryen marrying a male nobleman of a different last name at some point in their lineage.

I can agree with this. I don't really have an emotional attachment to anyone in the show.

I'm beginning to like Hugh Hammer. Should feature him more and should become a central character.

Alicent may be the most likable main character in the show, and even she isn't very likable.

Hugh also tells his wife that his Mom would say she’s was no different than her brothers, Daemon and Viserys.
Hugh's mother was almost certainly Saera Targaryen, the one who fled to Lys and then Volantis and became a powerful pleasure house whore and madame.

I don’t think they’re ruining daemon but they are definitely ruining rhaenyra and i hate to beat a dead horse but i suspect the showrunners are doing everything they can to prop up the female claimant against the monstrous male claimant. In the book at least at this point rhaenyra is basically a blood thirsty revenge driven psycho but of course HBO has to have her appear to be the level headed one and a frickin lesbo, neither of which is consistent with the source material

Agreed, this story is missing a Ned Stark. I think it would be cool if Aegon at least developed a little humility and became more like his father. I highly doubt it goes this way though
