pretty sure the actress is only a couple years older than the guys playing her sons. It was an odd casting decision

She was?

She's 30. She was the girl in Ready Player One.
It's a bit absurd, but I'll allow it.

Could be establishing that when a dragon is abandoned it knows it. We know they’re smart creatures at this point
True but then if he feels abandoned why not track Laenor down and smoke his arse? Sure did track this random guy down with ease

The recurring slow burn of daemon and these hallucinations/dreams was stretched way too far and for too long.
I've enjoyed the fights and dragons of GoT more than HotD to be quite honest, something about it feels rushed and not as focused.

The problem with this show is the two main characters are Rhanerya and Alicent and their acting is subpar (could be writing), and their characters are much less intriguing then Aemond , Dameon , or Aegon.
I liked Danaryes, brienne of Tarth, Arya. They were just badass women whereas in this show they literally point out themselves that they’re women and aren’t getting respect.
Very annoyed how they’re treating Rhanerya and Daemon this season.
Edit: I made this before seeing the lesbian make out scene , and now give this episode a 10/10

Thank God they are at least doing girl on girl gayness. Tired of watching hairy, sweaty mean together. If they chose the lesbian angle more often they could bring the woke and anti-woke together, so long as the chics are cute enough.
This is the way.

This show could use some comedic elements, something sorely missing compared to GOT

Yup.
Also, Alicent is not likeable. There really aren't any characters who connect with the audience and that's a problem.

Agreed. Rhaenyra is a spoiled princess that wants to be the leader bc her birth right. But she sucks as a leader.
Then there are a bunch of spoiled princes who all want to be tough shite even though they are just spoiled princes.
The most likeable character was Daemon but he was written to be kinda unlikeable. Now the show has him off sulking in lala land for 3 episodes.
Hugh the Hammer is promising i guess. And the two seasnake bastards might be likeable. "Small folk" could be a refreshing change if done right.

I love her small chest. Very queen-like

I thought the episode was good with the exception of Rhaynera and Missarya making out. That's aggravating to me.
Doesn’t mushroom mention that as a possibility in the book?

I like the show. But season eight killed my GoT fever and bite is just a show I watch not the event it was.

Not with Mysaria, I believe. It did hint that Rhaenyra was intimate with Daemon’s wife Laena. That didn’t make it into the show, my guess because of the Season 1 time jump.

I don't like adult Rhaenyra's actress. Primarily because her accent is completely different from Milly.

SPOILERS FOR FUTURE STORY
Surprised no one mentioned that it appears that they are going to make Rhaena take Nettles place as the rider of Sheepstealer. I know it was bandied about earlier in the season, but this episode makes it seem likely, IMO.
On another note, I thought we would’ve seen much more movement with Hugh and Ulf, how are they going to get to Dragonstone? Is this season going to end with the Battle in the Gullet? I figured we would’ve made it further than that, but with this pace I don’t see it. I see where they are going with Rhaenyra realizing that since Addam tamed Seasmoke, then apparently bastards can tame the other dragons, but somehow Hugh and Ulf are going to have to make it to Dragonstone, “Nettles” is going to have to tame Sheepstealer, they are going to have to hatch a plan to attack KL, and then have the Battle in the Gullet all in 2 episodes. Not to mention that sets up the Fall of KL to happen in episode one (or very early) in season 3, the pacing just seems off with that. Just thought we would’ve gotten much more movement with the dragon seeds in this episode.
