i expect this shite from disney trying to shoehorn in things from 'The Message' to established franchises where it doesn't belong. HBO seems to be falling into the same trap now.

the left just trying to ruin everything man....pisses me off

Especially when one was in love with another woman to start the series and the other is a literal whore that will do anything for power.

Cuz its "yucky" I guess. I never thought I'd see people complaining about lesbians in an ASOIAF series.

We used to cheer when we saw the N for Nudity before the episode.

Probably overthinking it but I do wonder why Aemond didn’t want to fly into battle again. It could’ve been nothing, just him asserting his authority. Or maybe it’s because Vhagar was hurt in the last flight and she needs to convalesce, but no one else knows about the extent of her injuries and Aemond isn’t completely confident he could take on Daemond at the moment.

It’s worth mentioning that when he flew into battle the first time, he wasn’t the Regent. Aegon was still functioning as King (and that’s why he was supposed to stay behind).

People will complain it was slow but it moves quite a bit forward, it’s just not on a battlefield.

Agreed. There is a lot of stuff going on.

Maybe the issue is you thinking everything is political. HBO has always been known for "sex sells". Game of Thrones in particular.

We've had 1 good episode of 6 so far with 2 to go... not a great season

I think it’s fantastic that they have gone back to what made GoT so great.

Developing depth among a variety of characters. I don’t need action scenes every episode.

Lesbian scene wasn’t needed but HoD could use a little more T&A in it so I don’t object

Eh, I could argue it is Mysaria further establishing her connection with Rhaenyra. Daemon isn’t any use to her at this point and she’s cast her lot with the Blacks. Becoming deeply entrenched with Rhaenyra is a sure way to keep your head and to have influence.

quote:

Cersei cupped the other woman’s breast. Softly at first, hardly touching, feeling the warmth of it beneath her palm, the skin as smooth as satin. She gave it a gentle squeeze, then ran her thumbnail lightly across the big dark nipple, back and forth and back and forth until she felt it stiffen. When she glanced up, Taena’s eyes were open.
“Does that feel good?” she asked.
“Yes,” said Lady Merryweather.
“And this?” Cersei pinched the nipple now, puling on it hard, twisting it between her fingers.
The Myrish woman gave a gasp of pain. “You’re hurting me.”
“It’s just the wine. I had a flagon with my supper, and another with the widow Stokeworth. I had to drink to keep her calm.” She twisted Taena’s other nipple too, puling until the other woman gasped. “I am the queen. I mean to claim my rights.”
“Do what you wil.” Taena’s hair was as black as Robert’s, even down between her legs, and when Cersei touched her there she found her hair all sopping wet, where Robert’s had been coarse and dry. “Please,” the Myrish woman said, “go on, my queen. Do as you wil with me. I’m yours.”
But it was no good. She could not feel it, whatever Robert felt on the nights he took her. There was no pleasure in it, not for her

I don’t know if it’s that as much as they cram it in with practically none of the egregious amounts of tits and arse from the original series

But as it was said, par for the course in this era

Kinda like how it seems like 49 of the last 50 sex scenes I’ve seen in general are mostly the guy going down on the female. It’s just such an obvious part of the formula in this era we’re in

It is what it is

Maybe the dream scenes finally show some character development with Daemon? Saying he knew Viserys needed him might make him reaffirm his loyalty to Rhaenyra.

I’m ready to see Vermithor and Sheepstealer.

Weird to add a lesbian scene but not a deal breaker whatsoever.

Man a lot of complaining for what I thought was a great episode.

Plot was advanced with finding a dragonrider, Tully lord dying, Rhaenyra finally getting in her dragon and going somewhere, small folk turned to Black side, Aegon being at least somewhat conscious.

We got a bunch of dragon scenes (little kids playing with baby dragons like dogs, that was awesome).

I am very sick of the Daemon dream sequences but maybe those are near an end.

Someone help me on the dragon rider thing, I did some googling and I think I have it worked out. The dude Seasmoke found is a bastard son of the sea snake so he has Targaryen blood, Seasmokes previous rider was Laenor. In the book Seasmoke finding another rider makes sense because Laenor is actually dead, in the show he faked his death so this could be an issue? Like Seasmoke would still sense Laenor if he were alive and go and find him instead of this Arryn dude, so maybe it’s confirming Laenor is actually dead now?

Also Rhaenyra making out with that chick makes total sense, she’s proven to be easy to seduce in the moment, has previously shown interest in women, and for the other girl it’s a total power play. They even made a point to show her steady her face and prepare before she told her sob story, clearly a play for more power.

Could be establishing that when a dragon is abandoned it knows it. We know they’re smart creatures at this point.

Seasmoke got a type though.

This disingenuous bullshite.

Of course it's for political points. It isn't in the book and serves no function in the story. Again, they're making their gayness quota. You know that and you're just carrying water, as usual.

The pacing is odd especially if you compare it to season one with the big jumps in time. This show will suffer for it simply because it’s not a true narrative like GOT but a history so the writers are filling in the gaps and they just aren’t as talented as Lord too fat to write a book

That was kind of stupid too. The dragon just 'chose' him.

Plenty of random, boring things progressing…season seriously needs to ramp the pace.

I know I'm not the first to say this, but Alicent looks way too young to have grown/late teenaged children. She's fine as frick and looks like she's maybe 30.

I think the show is great, but I'm over waiting week to week for the slow burn. I'll just wait until the season is over next time and binge the whole thing.
