Why is everyone mad at Alicent?
Rhaenyra ruined their friendship when she lied to Alicent and manipulated the king into firing Otto. She’s rightfully very upset at Rhaenyra. I don’t think she’s done anything wrong.
Rhaenyra is the count, not Alicent.

Probably because she has no moral superiority considering she immediately starting fricking the King right after his wife died in order to gain position for herself and family

ok i did forget about that but she only did that because her father told her to. She was like 14.
So yeah everyone sucks here but I still think Rhaenyra is way worse

Well she really said she didn't F her uncle - which she didn't. And for Alicent to get that bent out of shape about her not telling her about sleeping with the knight pales in comparison to slipping her way into being queen

Yea I don't get the hate for Alicient. She's right to know most of the realm will want her son to be king over Rhaenyra and it will lead to war. She's right to not trust her children's lives with Rhaenyra. Do yall want her to just sit back and take it? She has to do what's best to protect her children at the least, and really owes it to Aegon and the realm to do what she can to ensure that her son becomes king. He should truly be the rightful heir after all

I mean for one its really not any of Alicent's business what the frick she does(or who she fricks on the side). It's pure jealousy - and it will anger some but it is what is going on - along with internalized misogyny manifesting in outward resentment of Rhaneayra for engaging in acts she was denied due to her father and station.
And now her paranoia and resentment is creating a self reinforcing vicious cycle that is all but driving the realm to an inevitable open war. Where she had a amicable solution to the conflict that would ensure the safety and cooperation of both houses in Rhaenyra's marriage proposal, but scoffed at it because she essentially wants to "own her" and make her suffer. It's petty and despite claims of caring for her children, she's actively endangering them now with her desire to punish Rhaenyra and satisfy her resentments and jealousy.
That said I dont hate alicent, she is as much a victim as Rhaenyra of an unjust system that is the real villain driving these machinations toward war.

At no point has anything Alicent(or Rhaenyra for that matter) ever done anything for "the good of the realm."
These are all people acting in self interest trapped in an unjust system that victimizes them on the one hand while empowering them with the other. Which is what elevates GRRM's storytelling IMO and makes this a compelling story. There is no clear hero, and these are not selfless people.
With Alicent she has a deep rooted jealousy and bitterness toward Rhaenyra, coupled with a paranoia fed to by her father. And when presented with the opportunity to mend both of those, she pushed the hand away because it wouldnt satisfy her desire to see Rhaenyra punished for doing the thing she would have gladly done if the opportunity presented itself.

Well, there's a major problem with this proposal. The entire realm knows the kids are bastards. That's a big issue in Westeros. So, you take this proposal, then Daemon (or another claimant) may swoop in and get a bunch of people to back him because there's a bastard on the Iron Throne that doesn't have the rights to it. Do you remember how vigorously Cersei protected her children from being found out to be Jaime's kids? This is even more obvious. Had Rhaenyra had blonde haired children, I would think Alicent would have been more accepting of the proposal.
In fact, there's a whole story between this one and the events of GOT involving bastards that starts another civil war: Targaryens vs Blackfyres. If HOD is successful, I think that story would be great, too.

Making Rhaenyra come to her immediately after giving birth...while still bleeding all over the place...yeah I'd say that was one thing she did wrong.

It's still a far better solution than what Alicent is pushing toward with her resentments. Which is putting her children in more danger, not less.
She could create a unified front with the great houses of Oldtown, the Targaryens, and Valeryon through a marriage pack. Daemon would literally have no claim to the throne and no real allies to wage a war and win. His allies in Driftmark would feel much more beholden to Laeny's and his children than Daemon, who is now a widow and has no real claim under the proposed marriage.
What, Daemon is gonna go to war to put Alicent's son, married to Rhaenyra's daughter on the throne? Nah
It was a perfect solution but Alicent wants her vengeance.

She didn't want her to come with the baby. She wanted to inspect the baby without Rhaenyra there. It's still completely fricked up and a terrible thing to do, but she would have preferred that Rhaenyra never came.

Larys is pussywhipped and not even hitting it. What a fig

Cause she has become a petty a-hole that wants to punish
Rhaenyra over protecting her children.
She can claim she is doing what she is for the "Realm" or "her children," but she is not. Not when she turns down the most optimal way to avoid conflict and protect her children because of her lingering spite and resentment.
She desperately wants to out the rumors and formally endorse them but she is being buttressed by the walking corpse of Viserys still. Which is about the only authority he has left to muster.

Clubfoot doesn't give a shite about Allicent. He's doing this to advance himself.

Exactly
Maybe Larys wants to hit that, couldnt blame him, but he's doing this cause he sees an opportunity to leapfrog his inheritance/station and create a mutually assured destruction pact with Alicent that will all but guarantee his spot in her rule that he is seeking to help advance.
The man moved his chess piece from fringe figure with little influence outside occasional counsel to likely one of the most powerful people in the kingdom.

I'm not arguing that it was a bad solution. I'm just arguing that it wasn't perfect. Rhaenyra would've been better off fathering bastards by Daemon. At least there would be some doubt of the parentage.

Yep, they showed him sitting with the women during the hunt just to show how lowly he started.

I am curious as to why they keep showing that rat? Is it a deal like on Survivor that every time they show a snake someone is about to get stabbed in the back?

Sure, but such did not happen. As things are it was the best option for securing her children's safety and ensuring a sharing of the crown.
And at the end of the day, unlike Joffrey Baratheon, there is no doubt that Rhaenyra's children are still Targaryen's. They have dragons and Rhaenyra literally carried one from her bleeding womb to Alicent. The bastard is a issue, sure, but Rhaenyra's children are as much Targaryen's as Alicent's.
