You think the season ends with baela escaping confinement confronting aegon? I disagree personally but it would be interesting

They skipped over an extremely interesting story during the season 1’time jumps where Cragan the stark you say with Jayce had to defeat his uncle who was his regent until he was 16 but refused to give it up. Cragan raised an army and took it back and through them in prison and no one saw them leave. It’s a complete and total bad arse. He’s the one who sorts this entire mess out in the end.

So this episode fully closed the door on Jace falling in love with a northern girl, right? It was implied in the books it may happened

Yeah, I would think so. It's only in the Fool's account and I don't think it adds much to the story. The Starks are established enough characters following GOT that "Starks don't break their oaths" is a sufficient enough explanation of why they are Team Black.

Has there been any indication on the number of total seasons there will be? I want to say I’ve heard 3 in total but I could be pulling that out of my arse. Also I’m super hyped for dunk and egg next year

It’s been renewed for a third season, so I’m assuming they go 3-4 at the most.

Not going to read the thread yet because I was so tired and fell asleep with 30 minutes left but man that was a solid opening. A little fan service with an opening scene at the wall.
The new opening credits scene is 10x better than S1. Always thought season one's opening was pretty lame with just some blood running down cracks and just kind of filling up something illegible. This was more on GoT's level.
Criston Cole might be the biggest douche on the show.

I feel like 3 might be perfect, personally, but what do I know

I think so too, but I’m not sure how slow they’re going to slow things down. And what battles they’ll actually cover.

Speaking of him, was he supposed to be guarding the Queen’s room? Would explain why there were no guards posted out in front of the room.

Checking in. The wife and I enjoyed the first episode and glad it picked up right where it left off of season one. Glad my sunday night's got something on the schedule again. LFG!!

Have you read fire and blood? He’s not exactly Joffrey but he is by no means a good person in anyway whatsoever I think the show is building to it.
He is weak like Tommen but cruel like Joffrey, just not to the same degree as either.
His nickname should be “a-hole puppet king.”

For now. He gets competition later on.

Depends on how far they want to go with it.
GRRM has enough written to take them through the end of the Dance Of Dragons to several more seasons if they choose and the book ended on a relative cliffhanger with regards to an impending uprising.

Not sure but having zero guards with the heir and queen is highly suspect

I'm familiar.

I get the feeling that they are overly conscious of the impending carnage and wanted to dial back the butchery of Jahaerys before the war got rolling.
I didn't really expect them to show the full scene as depicted by GRRM. Though I wonder why they cut Maelor (other than maybe to avoid showing a kid getting ripped apart by a mob later on).

I believe the plan was 4 seasons.
