I’m almost positive the show runners have stated this show will only cover the Dance, and run 3-5 seasons.

You’re 100% right. 4 seasons and only Dance

It seems like a stretch to get 4 seasons out of Fire and Blood, but we'll see.

Maybe theres not nearly enough there to do this, but when this series first started I thought it would end with Dany being born.

ETA: Now im reading the other comments and it looks like its just the Dance. oh well

I really hope they don't try to water down Blood and Cheese by making Rhaenyra unaware of the plot or it being something she was against. So far the show has definitely slanted towards the Blacks being the good guys so this wouldn't surprise me but I feel like it cheapens the series. We don't know for sure how involved she was but Daemon clearly tells her a son for a son so she has to have an idea of what is about to go down.

I think Rhaenyra will approve. I thing Rhaenys will be the one who may be upset, which will give some context to her not burning everything to the ground last week.

I still think they will show Rhaenys being careful and not 100% on team black yet, but I may be completely wrong.

The one eyed fricker is going to kill her future son in law, so she may be fully on board.

That has sort of been the theme of the show, though. The women are the main characters and are strong, but the men do things behind their backs so it looks like the women are all clean. I hope that changes soon.

HBO realizes now the cash cow this universe is. They arent going to waste it by jamming 100 years in 4 seasons

I don't recall a ton that happened between the Dance and the few years following and the beginning of the Blackfyre Rebellion. Seems like they'd have to do a rather large time jump between the two.

Aegon III's reign wasn't very eventful from what I recall. His son's Daeron and Baelor were both pretty terrible kings for different reasons. Daeron's conquest of Dorned could be exciting but Baelor's religious lunacy wouldn't be very fun to watch unless it was intended as a comedy. Then Viserys II ruled for a short time before his son the infamous Aegon IV took over which then led to the Blackfyre rebellion once he died.

So yeah not really much drama betw it would be best to just start a new series from the beginning for Blackfyre rebellion.

Also, George hasn’t released the Fire & Blood sequel yet that will likely need to come before any series on Blackfyre, Robert’s Rebellion, etc.

I need to re-read the book during the offseason but where is Daeron at this time? Kinda strange he hasn't even been mentioned but they've said he's coming

Daeron is in old town. GRRM mentioned last week that they couldn't fit him into season 1 but will show up next season.

Aemond mentioned him last episode talking to Cole.

blood and cheese is not happening this season but will be episode 1 of season 2 most likely.

also i don't get the hype for this scene. its nowhere as fleshed out and gripping as the red wedding was. i think several of the forthcoming main character deaths are way more interesting.

I think a big reason why book readers are excited for this scene is because a lot of people who watch the show are convinced that Daemon and Rhaenyra can do no wrong and overlook some of their poor qualities because of blind fandom. Especially Daemon considering he murdered his wife and no one seems to care about that. It will be interesting to see their reaction to sanctioned child murder although at this point I think Matt Smith plays him so well they will still love him

the fan love for Rhaenyra is what i don't get. i'm looking forward to watching #teamblack turn on her after all the bad decisions she will make.

It really isn't complicated or confusing IMO. The Greens have been painted as the bad actors throughout pretty much every event so far.

I don't see that happening. Both sides commit atrocities throughout. There will be some shock after Blood and Cheese, but I still think most show watchers will be on Team Black.

rhaenyra basically becomes a borderline villain towards the end of the story. this story is gonna get weird when there's legit nobody left to root for.

It will be interesting to see how the Shepard and the mobs are depicted as well.

I am assuming that as the Dance drags on the show will slowly try and endear Aegon III to the audience prior to his accession, but maybe not since he’s only like 10 at that point.
