Quinn/estes bedroom scene was my favorite part.
No clue where they will go with this in Season 3.

Homeland Finale Grantland Podcast
Gansa discusses plot, season 3, plausibility issues.
He basically says they tell the story and don't stress about the realism too much.
He also says that Season 1 had a lot of silly and unrealistic set pieces but now that the show has been put on higher pedestal the audience has different expectations.
ETA: Also says the "Saul = mole" theories are pretty much ridiculous.

It would be annoying having a Jew working with Al Qaeda; it just doesn't work. I just think people link Saul with them because he prayed in a different language, so he must be a terrorist.

Yeah and I think a lot of us have become jaded with the whole "Gotcha!" shite. So some of us are expecting outlandish shite, and it shouldn't be that way.

Not that hard to make multiple copies of it.

Who leaked the tape of Brody? Only the CIA had that tape.

I just got around to watching the finale. I have been critical of Homeland the whole season but I thought this was a great episode.
And for the last time Saul is not a mole. It is ridiculous to even think that. If he turns out to be a mole on the show that will be the equivalent of writer's suicide. It would be the last season of the show because everyone will quit watching. That is how stupid this idea is.

Spent some time thinking about the finale
Brody is the patsy, hence his shock at his car being moved and his need for Carrie to help him bug out. He was supposed to die in the blast
Quinn works for Dar Adal not Estes, that is why Quinn wanted Brody left alive. They needed him for the patsy role. They could have easily rigged Brody's car while he was at the cabin
Dar Adal runs black ops for the CIA and was defacto in charge of the Brody op and gave Estes the order to kill a congressman when Nasir was confirmed dead. Assassinating a congressman came from high up. Dar Adal gave the video to alqueda to allow them to take credit for the blast insuring that a new 9-11 style commitment to fighting terrorists takes hold in Langley. Win the War on terror at all costs puts the black ops guys in power. The video was released when they thought Brody was dead, they didn't know he, Carrie and Saul survived the blast
Saul is now basically in charge at the cia and it sets up Saul vs Dar Adal. F Murray Abraham is way too big an actor to just do a cameo, he is going to be a focal point of season three IMHO.
Saul was supposed to die in the blast as well. Only Estes knew he was going on the boat during Waldens service
I think we saw Brody used as a scapegoat for a CIA palace coup. 450 personnel were killed in the blast which basically resets the CIA at Langley and allows a window for a new element to move into power in the CIA. Saul will have to battle them politically without knowing who to trust
Next season sets up Saul and Carrie trying to figure out who the good guys are and who the bad guys are
Brody is now a loose end for the bad guys because he can help unravel the plot. Brody will be on the run being chased by black ops guys and Carrie will try to help him stay alive. That would explain no one noticing Brody's car being moved. Bad CIA guys were in on it

I could see this happening on a smaller scale, but blowing up their own CIA office and people?
That seems a little much.

If not Brody and not Saul, then who?
somebody working for the black ops/NOC agents they introduced at the end of season 2. this is the type of shite they do

Yeah, but if he had killed Brody the bombing wouldn't have happened.
exactly why it ties into the NOC group
they also didn't really show the interrogation of brody/nazir, so that's their "out" if they want to pin it on brody
saul makes no sense other than he wasn't there when it happened. he'd still have to have somebody move the car. tough task to plan when he had just spent 3 days isolated from the world

basically my thoughts
but this show is way too concerned with being tricky than making sense, so who knows

how i see it, unless they want to get tricky

Also I haven't thought much about this since the finale but I watched it on DVR about 2 weeks ago and I can totally find Supes theory to be plausible. Maybe Quinn did set up Brody's car and then went to Estes house to punk him about being righteous. The Nocs are now in the running for being guilty imho

it doesn't have to be quinn, per se
1. it almost assuredly has to be brody or a CIA official, if they want to keep some semblance of reality
2. the CIA had the tape. the terrorists possibly had a copy. you have 2 small groups of people to point a finger at
3. why would brody play a part in releasing the tape if people thought he was possibly dead? that doesn't make sense
if you look at 2 and 3 and then read #1, it has to be CIA
as stated earlier, they were very hazy around the interrogation brody. this is a writing "out"
another writing aspect, as supes noted and i agree with, is that you don't just introduce this shadow group and let it die. they had to have an "out" for season 3. brody-carrie is played. you have to create new story lines. they created about 100

All good points but I still want to believe that in this scenario Quinn has to be the guy. It would suck if the noc's are responsible and then they pen it all on DA and one of his operatives we haven't seen yet while Quinn has been lurking/ in perfect position to do the deed etc. I would think it has to be Quinn at this purnt
