I’d stick with it. The show has some problems but, on balance, it’s very entertaining…

Season 6 was terrible. How has the “analyst” become so relevant to the point where the PoUSA seeks her counsel? Why is she always at the right place at the right time? How has someone so emotionally fragile placed in places like Islamabad and Bagdad? Ahh, so many questions …

The middle of the series is bad. I almost did this as well, but I did stick with it and the last couple seasons pick up nicely.

Homeland will always be special to me. It's one of the craziest archs of any show. It went 8 seasons and after the first 3 it was a different show each season.
I really liked how it would have a bad season and then find its footing again. I thought it ended very well with seasons 7 and 8.

I like the show during the seasons while she's in the Middle East. Peter, Saul, Max, Astrid, Dar Adal, Tasneem Qureishi, Bunny Latif, Haissam Haqqani, Aasar Khan, even Yevgeny Gromov are interesting characters. They make the the best parts of the show good.

Last episode of Season 8 is every bit as good as anything in the first season. Keep watching. It's a decent watch.
