I finally got around to watching this, and I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed it. Highly recommend.

I agree. Great Doc.
I agree. Great Doc.

Pt. 1 is the best rock doc I've ever seen, the story moves just like a movie.

I agree. Am I’m not that big a fan of The Eagles.

I never understood the love for the Eagles. Horrible, horrible band/music .

Got to be a troll. Horrible music?

Got to be a troll.
quote:yes imo it is. Now that opinion and 25 cents might get you a shiity cup of coffee somewhere but it's still my opinion nonetheless. I lvied/listened to the eagles all thru their glory years, even plunked down hard earned money to purchase albums. While I did listen and enjoy on a small level I just never got the love some have. Now when I go back and listen I wonder WTF was all the raving about and why did i waste $6.99 on that fricking album. Yes there are a few songs that I would listen to now but overall the catalog of music is just not good to me. To each his own. I'm not going to call you a fig if you love em, they are your ears, do what you want with them. I would rather clean mine with a paer clip than listen to the eagles. onward!
Horrible music?

You're crazy. And I'm not even a huge Eagles fan.

Mine is an opinion just like yours. It just so happens that your opinion sucks.

Sorry to get the thread away from the trolling, but...
Longtime Eagles fan, followed them from the start, their first greatest hits album was standard issue as soon as it came out. Saw them in Lafayette for the end of their first "Hell Freezes Over" tour. It was expensive and worth every penny. I bought the DVD of the documentary as soon as it was available.
The "History" doc is extremely well done. You can see the talent and the massive egos that drove the Eagles through the decades. I was watching Letterman the night that Glenn Frey made the "when Hell freezes over" comment in the mid-80's. I'm glad that they didn't gloss over how huge a dick Frey was while showcasing his amazing abilities as an artist and leader.
I can put up with Frey and Henley overinflating the importance of their post-reunion work. I know they didn't make that big of a mark, but there were a few good songs in that era and it was just nice to see them tour again.
I've watched the doc four or five times over the years. The music keeps it from ever getting old.

Would love to see it, but haven't done Neflix since they lost all of those Starz movies.
Used to sing Peaceful, Easy Feeling, and Take It Easy to myself in junior high. As a country boy, I lived the, "There's a girl my lord in a flatbed Ford, slowing down to take a look at me" life in high school, and college.
Never owned that first album, but bought the rest through 'The Long Road'.

Right on. I agree.
The Chicago documentary called Now More than Ever is excellent as well. That fricker David Foster was such a pretentious douche.

Don Henley is the one credited with the quote "when hell freezes over" in 1982.

The Chicago doc is awesome. A shame that they couldn't get Bill Champlin or Peter Cetera to participate.

Is this the one that was on TV a couple years ago? If so, yes, excellent doc, and I'm not even a big Eagles fan.
