I bought into it because they actually had fun together (laser tag; feeling up exhibits at the museum; dancing at whoever's wedding that was a couple seasons back) and Barney had legit grown up and has had the best character development over the past 2-3 seasons. His whole insane proposal which worked (the final play) and everything about them was the biggest storyline to me for the latter part of the series.
Unfortunately they've done nothing but shite on their relationship in this last season, and now she's still thinking about Ted because he's "dependable". Well no shite you selfish bitch!

I just think by putting Barney and Robin together they created the ever frustrating love triangle that is always a headache for the viewers. Plus I think they have basically castrated Barney's character. It would be one thing for him to end up with a stripper, but to end up with Robin is just wrong for his character in my opinion. Especially since they are dead set on Ted never getting over her. It just made the last few seasons frustrating.

And Barney will never be truly dependable for the reasons that Robin's mother said when she was talking about Robin's father (and thus Barney).

Really? I thought it was a great episode. I loved it right up until Marshall said they'd move to Italy. That's such bullshite, even though it's a generous move by him.
Zabka was fricking awesome in this one. Glad to see him back again.
Also wasn't crazy about the ending with Robin and fricking Ted yet AGAIN. I actually said to myself that I bet wildcat is having a conniption fit about that shite.
But otherwise, I thought it was a really solid episode. I loved that Ted was so right and so wrong at the same time, and how he was pissing everybody off with his theory. That was great.

I hope these frickers are setting us up for this one to get the rug pulled from under us, because after they continually pounded us in the head with Ted is over Robin and giving us the mother. I really don't care about Robin anymore. They screwed over her character and made her Barney in girl version and forced the whole Barney and Robin relationship when Quinn and Barney was a much better fit. They should of had Robin move away instead of Ted.

The last two episodes have me fully prepared for a wtf ending.
If the mother is dead, and Ted has been telling this story to his kids about their dead mom, it completely will put a bummer on the series.
I mean, it doesn't fit. Never have they hinted that.
I don't know, perhaps I just love to bitch about it. I'm spoiled because the Office finale was damn perfect.

also, based on how marshall said he packed funions for him on the trip, and the fact that lily's dad is there, i'm not so sure they aren't either vacationing or lily went without marshall for a few months and marshall joined for the birth.

I thought he said he had them mailed to them in Italy. Also, the fact that they are speaking fluent Italian was supposed to imply they had been there for a while.

i say i won't be broken up about it but i'm still barely over kevin arnold mentioning his dad dying as the epilogue to the finale. i mean we didn't even see him die in an episode and i was sad.

I was in such a rage last night when Marshall caved. We were praising him a few weeks ago for putting Lily in her place, but BOOM Lily's pregnant and she gets her dream just because she laid off the birth control.
