Damn Narshall spoiling the ending 4 years ago.

I liked that they brought back Swarley last night

I enjoyed seeing The Wedding Bride Too. Wasn't as funny as the first but was still pretty good. Loved the Narshall introduction.

The mother being dead is too obvious to be true, it's got you looking fastball when it's really a curveball.

You want to know my theory? We’re going to find out at some point that the mother’s dead. And adult Ted has been telling them all these stories about the mother they never knew. It’ll retroactively cast the entire show in this dark-comic light.
[without missing a beat] I suggested that also.

I hope so, it would kill the rewatchability for a lot of people and turn people off from the new show if they just make the ending a downer. The network wants syndication dollars and new show money. They like to screw with the audience, so I hope this is the case.

yeah someone else mentioned on another board that it would essentially kill syndication

I agree. I really feel like they are pulling some BS on the viewer bc this would make the how I met your father or whatever stupid and no one will watch

How I met your Dad will feature completely different characters and have no connection to this show.
However, it will still be stupid.

wont even have the same mom?
Posted on 3/5/14 at 12:41 pm to wish i was tebow
Nope. Completely different characters. Entirely unrelated.

Oh I thought the mom/wife whatever was gonna be the same and it was gonna have those people featured a few episodes ago. Thats dumb. and there arent gonna be different hot girls every episode..... no go for me

He's told them 98% stories of the rest of the gang. Would be pretty stupid if he finishes the story barely telling them about their dead mother when 98% of the show is about Barney, robin, Ted, and Lilly

She may still be sick when Ted is telling the story to the kids and is in surgery or something. Ted is telling the stories to pass the time and the series ends with the mother coming out of some successful surgery to remove cancer or something. That could be pleasant finale that doesn't make us all depressed as hell.
I really hope that's what they do. The finale of Wonder Years has always seriously bummed me out.
I think this would be even more of a downer given the lighter overall spirit of the show compared to Wonder Years.

If the wife is dead it would make the kids and Ted seem like a major a-hole in syndication. Kids constantly bored and complaining, Ted talking about all the skanks he boned.

Definitely. While it does have some heartfelt and more serious episodes, the overall tone of the show has been way too light overall to end it with that.

Hey kids let me tell you about how I met your mom. first lets go through all the randos I boned and stuff then at the very end I will touch on how me and your mom got together and then she died..... but man Robin was a good lay

Yeah, that show was so good and the finale is so depressing when I first saw it. It always had some really depressing moments in it though.
After rewatching it on Netflix now that I am older, the finale was a lot better even though it was sad. I was just sad the Dad died and was happy Kevin was just friends with Winnie. Winnie was a fricking bitch to Kevin for most of the show. He was pretty beta for letting her friendzone/unfriendzone him all the damn time.
