She only hasn't seen him for a week and she thought she was going to have plenty of time with him in Italy. She is suppose to be leaving her friends to go there and wanted a last night of drinking with them before she leaves, so I can kinda forgive her putting him with a sitter for the night. It all depends on where she goes in the car too. If she just goes to a close hotel because all the rooms there are booked for the wedding, then that is not so bad.

Isn't the trip to Italy for a year, while the Judgeship is an appointment, which is presumably for LIFE.

Let's get off of how she is fricking over her friends, husband, and kid by leaving and talk about how she is inconveniencing whoever picked her up. Let's just assume it is Ranjeet or The Captain, that means she called them between 2:00 am and daylight to come pick her up at a place hours from NYC. What a piece of shite.

A normal couple that is that much in love would try to work it out in a logical manner.
I had to say yes to the judgeship on the spot. That doesn't mean I can't say no later. But this is a life time appointment, I feel I must take this for us and the family.
Its only a year, please go to Italy and live your dream. I'll visit when I can. In a year, come back, and everything will be fine.
But no, because sitcom. And Lily really is a total bitch. So selfish.

Awesome episode.
frick Lilly. She is absolutely horrible. Good for Marshall for dropping that bomb on her and calling her out for being incredibly selfish.
Strangely enough, I am watching the episode where she is about to get married and gets the interview for the art thing in San Francisco (I've never seen the episodes back then; just seen people here bitch about this).
And her straight up leaving is beyond fricked up. I'm curious as to who picked her up, and how long she is gone for (and what she does while she's gone).
The Barney truth thing was pretty funny. Finding out what he does for a living was cool (even if it was sort of a copout
).
Ted and Robin arguing about their relationship was annoying, but it was okay since it was done within Barney's truth drunk thing it didn't bother me too much.

It could be the mother for all we know....Lilly very well got her number on the train and asked her if she could stay at her hotel. I could definitely see a scene next week where the mother convinces Lilly she is being a count...and sets her straight.

There's a reason why there wasn't a "next time on HIMYM" this week. There is a new episode next week (or there is supposed to be), and it is a "special" episode. It is different. I'll say no more.
