Heat 2 Cast Taking Shape

Starting to get some info on which actors are playing which characters....
Bale = Hanna
Leo = Shiherlis
Stephen Graham = McCauley
Adam Driver = Wardell (villain role)
The Wrap
For those unfamiliar with the book, Heat 2 is a sequel and prequel to the original movie.
IIRC from the book, there's a few other major roles left to drop: Charlene (Ashley Judd's character), Cerrito (Tom Sizemore), Nate (Jon Voight), and a handful of new characters.

I have mixed feelings. I really wanted Austin Butler for Shiherlis. How is Leo’s fat arse going to play young Shiherlis? I don’t even like him as old Shiherlis.
And I did NOT have Adam Driver pictured for Wardell. I had him pegged for sure as Hanna.

Works for me! I have blind faith to anything and everything Michael Mann

The book was so surprisingly good, I have been looking forward to this for a long time. And now this cast...and Michael Mann coming back....I usually try to temper my expectations for movies these days, but this is gonna be one badass flick.

Rumor online that Michael Mann met with Inde Navarrette (Obsession) for a role

I was thinking of the Sandy B movie. The Heat.
I havent read the books I saw Heat a long time ago

No scene in it will top this one.

This one is surprising, and honestly thought this would be Leo's role since the book has a good chunk of McCauley.

I quit about half way through, thought it was boring and all over the place, maybe I need to try again

Kilmer was 35 when he played this role in Heat, Leo is 51.
Am I missing something there? All the other roles are played by actors younger than the actors in the original, I think.

It's been so long since I've seen this. I remember so little. If this is a prequel and sequel, who is alive in the movie for a sequel. Now the prequel could be awesome.

Maybe he will play the Kilmer part post original Heat.

I’m with you and I’m surprised how many people like it. I wanted to but I found it so boring as well. The idea of it being a prequel/sequel was interesting but I found the prequel parts really bland and derivative. I love Heat so I may give it another shot

That's good to know. When I first heard this announced I figured it was an original script and be some trash like Gladiator 2. Actually excited for this now. I like the cast so far.

The cast is going to rival the talent of Oppenheimer’s at this rate. Leo and Bale working on their first picture together, Graham is good, and Driver as the villain is going to be fun.

I was very skeptical when I first heard about the movie on this board but posters noted the story is by Michael Mann and Edgar Award winner Meg Gardiner so I'm in unitl I find out Neil McCauley is played by Elliot Page.

Shia LaBeouf needs a role in this movie somehow
