I never got into Below Deck, but I’ll be the first to admit I can’t turn away from Southern Charm and Vanderpump.

Trashy reality tv is my guilty pleasure. My wife watches a bunch of these and I got sucked in.

My wife binge watched it and I caught a little bit. They're just waiters and maids on a boat but think they are the smartest people on the planet.

As others have said the captains are pretty much the only rational people on the boat. I think Sandy is a better captain than Lee or at least manages people better.

They bitch about their jobs but make $5-600 a day in paradise cleaning up after 6 People. The off camera crew are actually running the ship. They never show the first mate, the engineers for a reason.

bunch of the Below deck broads end up doing Onlyfans.
this is the reason my husband doesn't complain when I watch it
I love trash TV and he will tolerate it if there are swimsuits and short skirts.

While you're not wrong, they are doing regular yaht jobs. It's not like the deck crew just films a few hours a day then the "real" deck crew does all the work. They have a series where the engineer actually is a regular cast - I think it's BD Sailing Yaht.

Essentially Bravo charters these yahts for 8 weeks a year and replaces the deck crew, chef, interior crew, and captain. Sandy/Lee are the real captains of the ship, they aren't just there for filming. The First Mate legitimately reports to them. The Charter guests apply through Bravo, but they pay the full normal cost of chartering the boat + tips, etc.

Southern Charm sucked once Cameran and Chelsea left and they tried to force Leva into the main cast.

Vanderpump in its prime was some solid reality TV.

My wife watches it. It drives me nuts, it's just non-stop screaming. It's fricking awful. I really can't stress how bad the show is.

It’s my current favorite no-brain needed reality show. Has to be Captain Sandy though, she cracks me up.

It makes me not think about all the shite I have to do running my business so I actually like it as an escape too. Captain Sandy’s fiancé

It really is. But once I got caught up to present season, I quickly lost into.
